The Advantages of Investing in Small Cap Stocks

03:59
You can download a free list of Russell 2000 stocks here: https://www.suredividend.com/russell-2000-stocks/ Many investors focus on large-capitalization stocks, which are loosely defined as stocks with more than $10 billion of market capitalization. While this strategy works for most, it has the effect of artificially narrowing your investment universe. Moreover, the rise of online brokers, index funds, and other passive investment products has made it easier than ever to invest in small cap stocks. In this video, I explain the advantages of investing in small cap stocks. What are Small Cap Stocks? To begin, let’s talk about the definition of a small-cap stock. Small cap stocks are defined as stocks with market capitalizations between $250 million and $2 billion. Stocks that are smaller than this are called microcaps or nanocaps, while stocks that are larger than this are called midcaps or largecaps. ------------------------------------------------------ Reason #1: A Broader Investment Universe The first reason why investing in small-cap stocks is attractive is because of the sheer number of companies that dwell in the small-cap space. This is appealing from the perspective of diversification, and also because it allows you to be more selective when hunting for investment opportunities. For evidence of this broader investment universe, consider the major market indices for large-cap and small-cap stocks. The main index for small-caps is the Russell 2000, which contains about 2000 companies. The main index for large-cap stocks is the S&P 500, which contains about 500 companies. Said another way, the small-cap stock universe contains about four times as many companies as its large-cap counterpart. ------------------------------------------------------ Reason #2: A Less Efficient Market Small-cap stocks receive much less attention from the financial markets. They receive less analyst coverage and less consideration from the media. What this means for investors is that small-cap stocks can remain quite mispriced for prolonged periods of time. When large-cap stocks become disconnected from their intrinsic value, investors quickly take notice. This is not the case in small-cap stocks, which creates opportunities for self-directed investors to acquire shares below their intrinsic value and profit from potential valuation expansion. ------------------------------------------------------ Reason #3: No Institutional Ownership On the surface, it may not be clear why a lack of institutional ownership in small-cap stocks is beneficial for self-directed investors. It comes down to the fundamental principles of supply and demand. When institutions begin to buy a stock – particularly a small-cap stock – it creates significant buying pressure in the market. This increases stock prices. As we know, higher prices result in lower future returns, all else being equal. Small-cap stocks do not have this problem. They are outside the realm of most institutional investors, which creates more favorable prices for investors that are willing to venture into this space. In fact, one of the “sweet spots” of investing is when a small-cap business grows to the point that it is included in some of the major market indices. This means that a great number of ETF providers and other passive investment products are forced to buy the stock, which drives its price higher. A recent example occurred when it was announced that Walgreens was joining the Dow Jones Industrial Average. Walgreens’ stock rose by 4% on the day of the announcement. ------------------------------------------------------ Reason #4: Small-Cap Stocks Naturally Have More Upside Some of the best gains that are available in the stock market are when investors can purchase shares in an attractively-valued business, and then that business sustains a high growth rate for a very long period of time. In fact, each of the world’s largest businesses grew to their current size by following this blueprint. However, large companies are limited in how much they can grow. Apple has a market cap of nearly $1 trillion dollars. It is unlikely that the company will double in size over the next several years. Instead, shareholder returns will come from dividend payments, share repurchases, and perhaps some modest business growth. Small cap stocks have a completely different total return profile. Their growth potential is much greater, which often creates spectacular returns for investors that have the ability to recognize these businesses early. If you do not have this ability, passive funds that track the Russell 2000 index will also capture this growth.

SMALL CAP ETFs - ANALYSIS & HOW TO INVEST IN SMALL CAPS

Now, there has been a lot of talk how even small caps are overvalued and a part of the stock market to definitely avoid even if it is tempting to search for opportunities where Wall Street is renowned for missing them. A Wall Street article was recently titled “How much are small caps overvalued?”. Let’s dig into the U.S. small cap environment to see what is going on. I’ll start by taking a look at the iShares Core S&P Small cap ETF (IJR) that tracks the S&P 600 small cap index. Small Cap performance As said, small caps usually outperform and their performance over the last 18 years has been nothing short of stellar. $10k invested in the ETF in 2000 would be now north of $50k not including any dividends while the S&P 500 is up ‘only’ 83%. A 500% performance leads many to believe the small cap environment is hugely overvalued.

How to Pick the Best Dividend Stocks http://www.financial-spread-betting.com/strategies/strategies-tips.html PLEASE LIKE AND SHARE THIS VIDEO SO WE CAN DO MORE One strategy is obviously to pick growth stocks, another is to buy stocks that have a good dividend yield. Let's look at how best to take advantage of the dividend capture strategy and pick the best dividend stocks; Dividend Stocks Investing Strategy: - Look for Mid to Large Cap Stocks. You want mature companies that are not feeding money back into the business to fuel growth in different sectors. - Dividend/Payout ratio is 50% or more - Track record in paying consistent dividends. - The fundamentals must be sustainable. You don't want to invest in a company where the fundamentals aren't good or the business is actually declining - Company has low CAPEX. You don't want to buy into a company that has a lot of capital expenditure. - Company has stable cashflow. - Yield is greather than the Risk Free Rate. 4 Important Dates when it comes to Dividend Payments 1) Declaration date - this is when a company board of directors announce the dividend amount and the date that it will be paid. 2) Ex-dividend date - aka as the dividend detachment date. In order to be eligible to receive the dividend you need to hold the stock on the day PRIOR to the ex-dividend date. 3) Record Date - this is the date a company cross-checks its records to see which shareholders are eligible to receive the dividend. 4) Pay Date - the actual date when the dividend is paid. The Top 3 Mid-Cap Value ETFs for 2016

09:30
https://goo.gl/QPCkqk - Start earning with binary options like millions of traders do With increasing uncertainty and volatility creeping into the stock market as an interest rate hike appears probable in the near future, investors are looking for ways to access stocks with above-average growth potential while further minimizing risk exposure. One commonly used tactic is to shift one's portfolio focus more toward mid cap equities. Mid caps are a good split the difference option between the relative safety of large-cap stocks and the relatively higher growth potential of small-cap stocks. Another strategy for exposure to relatively high potential growth with reduced risk is investing in value stocks. Investors can use exchange-traded funds (ETFs) to combine the two strategies through investing in mid-cap value-oriented ETFs. As of 2015, there are approximately a dozen of such ETFs to choose from. Mid-cap value ETFs offer investors exposure to a selection of equities with value characteristics, such as a low price-to-book or price/earnings ratio, factors that help minimize company-specific risk. Focusing on value stocks can have another advantage in the fact that a number of studies have found that over the long term, value stocks have actually produced better returns for investors, and with lower volatility, than riskier pure growth stocks. Here are three of the most widely traded and best-performing mid-cap value ETFs that are likely to continue to perform well in 2016. 1) Vanguard Mid Cap Value ETF The Vanguard Mid Cap Value ETF (NYSEARCA: VOE) was launched by Vanguard in 2006. This ETF, with over $4 billion in total assets, seeks to mirror the performance of the CRSP US Mid Cap Value Index that selects stocks according to five value factors, including price to book ratio (P/B), forward earnings to price, and dividend to price ratio. The fund holds the equities that make up the underlying index in the same proportion as they are held in the index. This ETF is appropriate for investors seeking broad exposure to mid-cap value equities with minimal expense, as it offers the lowest expense ratio of all the ETFs in this category. This fund's heaviest concentration is in financial sector stocks, which make up nearly 20% of the fund's portfolio, followed by consumer cyclicals, technology and industrial. Major holdings include Hartford Financial Services Group Inc., Fidelity National Information Services Inc., ConAgra Foods Inc., Sigma Aldrich Corporation and WEC Energy Group Inc. The weighted average P/B ratio of the fund's holdings is 1.88. The fund's annual portfolio turnover ratio is comparatively low at 14%. The Vanguard Mid Cap Value ETF has an extremely low expense ratio of only 0.09%. The category average expense ratio is 0.48%. The fund offers a dividend yield of 3.04%. The fund's five-year annualized return is 14.19%. Morningstar rates this ETF as carrying a below-average level of risk and offering high returns. 2) iShares Russell Mid Cap Value ETF The iShares Russell Mid Cap Value ETF (NYSEARCA: IWS) was launched by

Here are the index funds or ETF's that I recommend investing in. I recommend investing in Vanguard index funds. Vanguard index funds have some of the lowest expense ratios in the industry. While it may not seem like a lot, high expense funds could be costing you a significant amount of money in the long run. It is important to consider the expense ratio of any fund you invest in. Mutual funds typically have a much higher expense ratio compared to index funds. Here are the Vanguard index funds I recommend! This is the ETF listing as well as the index fund listing. 1. RevenueShares Global Growth ETF Buys Fastest Companies, Countries

04:26
The recently launched RevenueShares Global Growth ETF (RGRO) is unique because it seeks out the fastest growing companies in the fasting growing countries, said Vince Lowry, President of RevenueShares. Lowry added that the ETF is even split between developed and emerging countries. He said the RevenueShares Small Cap ETF (RWJ) will do well relative to large cap ETFs because it is less impacted by the stronger dollar and will do well during an economic expansion. Finally, Lowry said the RevenueShares Ultra Dividend ETF (RDIV) has been a strong performer because it offers the stability of large-cap dividend stocks with the dynamism of mid-cap dividend growth. Stock Investing and ETF/Index Fund comparison | Diversification

15:39
Depending on the amount you have to start investing, your age, and your personal tolerance ETF and Index funds can be a great passive way to begin building a longstanding strong portfolio. When you first start out in the market and just begin buying single stocks you subject yourself to big disappointment because stocks are are trying to re-price themselves. Investing in the ETF's and index funds allows a beginning investor to get used to being a participant in the market, get used to market fluctuations, allows one to practice sticking to an investment plan and become familiar with the overall market options. I always float the idea of having at least $10,000 in the account prior to owning single stocks but that really just depends on the individual investor and if you are a single investor or investing with a spouse. Two accounts are better than one and if you can fund both it gives you greater opportunity to invest according to two investment tolerance levels. Stocks could then be placed strategically in one or more of those accounts to add more single stock exposure which allows for greater potential to accelerate the intended target of 8% year over year returns. The following ETF's are mentioned in this video and are personally owned by me: VOO (15% return)(2%div) S & P 500 IJT (9% return)(1% div) Small cap SCHA(15% return)(1.5% div) Small cap VOE (9% return) (2% div) Mid cap IJH (10% return) (1.5% div) Mid cap VBK(9% return)(1% div) Small cap VBR (9% return)(1.5% div) Small Cap The following Index Funds are mentioned in this video and are personally owned by me: VFINX (11% return) NASDAQ VGTSX (5% return) Foreign Funds VHDYX (8% return) High Dividend yield VIMSX (10% return) Mid cap growth Compounding interest calculator and fee comparison tool: http://www.tradingacademy.com/resources/calculators/compare-investment-fees.aspx ----The following equipment was used to produce this video---- Camera: http://amzn.to/2r4PWKX (Hero 4)(Old videos) Camera: http://amzn.to/2sc4Alk (Hero 5)(New videos) Tripod: http://amzn.to/2sceOlG Lighting: http://amzn.to/2rxXE1G Desk: http://amzn.to/2sc0s4K Microphone: http://amzn.to/2sLGTgz Citizen Watch: http://amzn.to/2s5LAny DISCLAIMER: This video and description contains affiliate links, which means that if you click on one of the product links, I’ll receive a small commission. One singular mission: Share with every viewer the best kept secret in the Financial Wold! It's a secret that money managers don't want you to know about. Here it is: You can own/trade individual stocks, etf's, own index funds and limited partnerships or bond funds all within your roth ira account! The secret is in the type of account you need to start. The self managed account. You will not hear this from your financial planner. This relatively new service is available to anyone who opts to take charge of their own financial future and can do so by starting a self-managed Roth IRA. Any roth account will provide tax shelter and allow for contributions and earnings to be withdrawn at age 59.5 years old. However, only a self-managed account can maximize profits through wealth preservation by eliminating fees charged to traditional investment accounts. Cumulative growth, dividend re-investment and compounding interest can all work to maximum potential for you free of the damaging effect of fees from traditional managed account types. It's an exciting time to be an independent investor. Accelerate your returns by building a passive or active portfolio using my 22 years of experience and foundational approaches that are easy to understand and take little to no experience. Just a little initiative will result in stepping into a whole new world of accelerated profits and financial security for you, and your family. No too accounts are the same. Investment tolerances differ. Small Growth and Global ETFs

03:33
This video tells you about small growth and global ETFs. Small Growth, Small cap value stocks have been a real star in the recent years. In the past small value stocks have returned more to investors than have large value stocks or growth stocks. Holding both a large cap and small cap ETFs in your portfolio will give you an average return very similar to mid caps but with considerably less volatility because large and small cap stocks tend to move up and down at different times Emerging markets have been giving a return up to 16 percent for the past decade. European stocks have shown about 6 percent return in the past. To invest abroad is a good reason for diversification. Investing across borders will give you very good diversification. You can lower the risk by diversification, however, you cannot eliminate risk. You should keep some bonds and cash investments in your portfolio. According to Financial Experts you should have 15 to 25 percent of your portfolio in international holdings. There is always a currency risk when you have foreign investments. One should not invest in currency ETFs. Currencies can move very fast and you never know what direction would they take. Foreign investments are also subject to inflation risk. Foreign investments usually have higher fees than domestic investments. Foreign investments will hold certain percentage of taxes when funds pay dividends. Your home government can also tax you on these dividends that can result in double taxation. Emerging markets ETFs are likely more volatile but in the long run can be very rewarding than ETFs that track stocks of developed countries.
