Flourish Tabs Vs. API Root Tabs - And Why Do You Need Root Tabs Anyway?

07:10
Root tab.....Throwdown!! We are going to take a look at Flourish Tabs vs. API Root Tabs and point out the differences between the two. I've had a lot of success in using root tabs with pool filter sand, getting strong root systems and great plant growth. There are differences in API Root Tabs and Flourish Tabs, and I'll point those out in the video. So, who wins the throw down? Are API Root Tabs better or are Flourish Tabs better? Of course that's a teaser. It's all in the video. Crypts - Great Beginning Aquarium Plants - (With A Disappearing Act)

02:04
Yes, folks, I love my Crypts. And they have an interesting disappearing act. When I was ready to jump into rooted plants this was the second species I tried after Foxtail. Crypts are hardy, easy to care for plants that thrive as long as their environmental conditions are kept consistent. They do have a shock reaction to environmental changes and will melt back - a phenomenon called "Crypt Melt." But they will grow back! A GREAT beginner plant for those getting into planted tanks and want to have some early success. I've had a lot of success with the species highlighted in the video: --Cryptocoryne spiralis --Cryptocoryne undulata --Crytocoryne lutea --Cryptocoryne tropica (in another tank, but rocking as well!) Hope this is helpful! Please like, comment, subscribe for future updates! Keep tankin, --d

How To Aquascape A Low Tech Planted Aquarium part 1

05:26
Truthfully doing organic soil and capping it is harder and more work than Aquasoil with Osmocote+. Yes one costs less, but what is actually easier and more plug and play. No mess-which saves new impatient hobbyists a headache. No cap-which saves money you can put towards Aquasoil. My plants are pearling and I haven't added any Excel or dosed anything to the water column. Have the tank set at 7.2 pH 80ppm KH 150ppm GH. Already has new growth on the anubias and they are super slow growers. API Co2 Booster Melts My Cryptocorynes

02:39
My new 10 gallon planted tank has been up and running for almost a week now. I've noticed that since I've been dosing API Co2 Booster daily, my Cryptocoryne Wendtiis have been melting several leaves everyday! I want to make it clear that I never overdosed the liquid carbon. I carefully dosed 1ml daily (often less) every 24 hours. The liquid carbon seems to not negatively affect my other plants. Can someone explain to me why the liquid carbon has only affected the Cryptocoryne?

Best aquarium plants | freshwater plants | aquarium plants for beginners

01:57
#bestaquariumplants #begginers #easy to care #javamoss #amazonsword#javafern Easy to care of aquarium plants | best outdoor plants | best indoor plants Plants are:- 1. Java Moss These plants are very popular plants for a freshwater aquarium and are likewise a solid favorite of lovers of shrimp as they give extraordinary spots to them as their hiding place. 2. Amazon sword This is a very amazing plant for freshwater aquarium. It can be grown in a wide range of conditions. It is surely a standout amongst the most well-known and easy to maintain freshwater plants. The Amazon Swords usually become vast in the aquarium and you need to keep this in mind before buying it. 3. Java fern Like Java moss, this is another plant for freshwater aquarium that is famous with shrimp. The java fern likewise inclines toward low light, and they grow fine when their rhizome (i.e. the green stems which brings forth the leaves) are attached to the ornament or rock they are joined too. 4. Anubias and Anubias Nana Anubias and Anubias Nana are two easy to keep aquatic plants in your freshwater aquarium. Anubias is usually sold on rocks or driftwoods in the aquarium store. Unlike the Java Fern, this freshwater plant grows gradually. It’s therefore essential to purchase a specimen that can properly fit the size of your aquarium. 5. Crypt wendtii Crypts are great plants that are normally displayed in pots in neighborhood fish stores. Crypts in some cases have a terrible reputation since they “liquefy” quickly upon addition to the planted aquarium. This is due to the fact that crypts are less resistant to change compared to other aquatic plants in this rundown. 6. Cryptocorynes These live plants for freshwater aquarium can vary widely in size, color, and shape. Cryptocorynes comes in a wide range of varieties, yet regardless of what they look like, they are extremely well known with shrimp. 7. Pygmy chain sword This aquarium plant (otherwise called Narrow Leaf) is mostly seen in freshwater. It is a good choice of plant for both a beginner and expert hobbyist. It is normally kept at a closer view to the edge of the aquarium as it doesn’t grow extremely tall. 8. Water wisteria These species of aquatic plants are otherwise called “Bunch Plants” and are exceptionally basic with shrimp-keeping aquarists since they root deeply into the aquarium tank and make pleasant spots for the shrimps to explore and navigate around. 9. Hornwort Otherwise called Coontail, Hornwort is one of the less-difficult plants to keep in the aquarium. It is commonly sold in pots and floats freely on the surface of the aquarium. It is exceptionally versatile to changing conditions and has the ability to survive an expansive scope of temperatures. It is likewise appropriate for cool outdoor ponds and water tanks. 10. Dwarf lilies These are extremely delicate plants and grows slowly. In spite of the fact that shrimp seems to like them, they can damage easily, so it may not be a smart idea to plant dwarf lilies if you have excessively numerous shrimp circling around.

Plant Arrival and Hardscaping: Starting a Planted Aquarium - Part 2 -

12:56
This is my second video in a series about starting a planted aquarium. I am new to this and I want to share the process, the things I learn, and the inevitable mistakes I will make along the way. In this video I introduce the three varieties of cryptocoryne that I will be planting. I decided to use tissue cultured plants since they are grown in a sterile environment which eliminates the possibility of adding pest snails, disease, or algae to my aquarium. I also briefly cover the progress of the grapewood discussed in my previous video. It is now water logged and it is no longer releasing the extreme amounts of tannins that it first did, but it continues to grow a white fungus on much of its surface. In the second part of the video I move on to the hardscaping of the aquarium and I add the substrate in preparation for planting. If you are interested in following the progress of this aquarium please subscribe to my channel and be sure to hit the notification bell. Yep - I noticed I misspelled amateur in my first 4 videos. My SUPER CHEAP High Tech Dirted Planted Aquarium Setup!!

09:11
This is an in depth look at my dirted planted aquarium set up! This is a great budget aquarium that uses super cheap lighting that can be found at any hardware store and cheap soil to grow my plants. This aquarium is injected with pressurized CO2 which has my plants growing like crazy! This shows it doesn't always take a lot of money to have a beautiful aquarium with amazing plant growth. Dirted tanks are great if you want a cheap aquascape. There is some controversy on whether dirted aquariums are worth it as some people experience issues down the line. My main tip if you choose to go with a dirted tank setup is that less is more when it comes to laying down the dirt layer in the aquarium. In my experience, all planted aquariums I have had in the past were dirted tanks and it is my favorite way to grow plants. In this aquarium I have many nano fish such as long fin white cloud mountain minnows, celestial pearl danios, blue axelrodi rasboras, amano shrimp and skunk corydoras. The plants include anubias nana, anubias nana petite, cryptocoryne petchii, cryptocoryne wendtii, madagascar lace plant (Aponogeton madagascariensis), dwarf baby tears (Hemianthus callitrichoides), Micranthemum 'Monte Carlo', java fern, and Christmas moss. Thanks for watching! Check me out on Instagram at: Widquatics

10 gallon planted aquarium (low tech)

02:02
My 10 gallon planted, open top tank. Using no CO2 or fertilizers. Substrate is Eco complete. I believe the light hood holds two 18-watt bulbs. One 10,000k/actinic and one 6000k bulb to get as close to a full light spectrum as possible. I know it's a bit crowded with so many fish, but it's a little hard keeping all those baby guppies in check lol... The tank is somewhat neglected. It's been up and running on it's own for a bit over a year. Only things done to it is feeding and water top-offs. Fish: 1 adult male guppy 1 adult female guppy Too many baby guppies to count 4 corydora hastatus 3 kuhli loach 2 Siamese algae eaters (soon to be relocated) 8+ adult cherry shrimp Tons of Malaysian trumpet snails 2 Otocinclus 1 awesome pleco (not sure what type) Plants: 1 mother Dwarf tiger lily 1 newly sprouted dwarf tiger lily Tons of java fern (all from one mother plant) 1 Marimo ball 3 anubias nana petite 1 anubias nana 1 anubias lanceolata (I think) some Cryptocoryne Wendtii 1 Piece of driftwood Enjoy :)

I hope you guys enjoy this cheap and easy way to create a beautiful planted aquarium! I always thought creating a great looking aquarium with live plants would be a lot of work, and my biggest fear was of course, the cost. But it doesn't have to be difficult OR expensive!
