Disturbing Stock Market Update for S&P 500 Nasdaq ETF Dow Jones Industrial Index

13:24
Disturbing Stock Market Update for S&P 500 Nasdaq ETF Dow Jones Industrial Index The stock market is showing some negative signs after trading completed. The S&P 500, Nasdaq and Dow Jones Industrial Averages are showing weakness going into the weakest historical weak of the year, the last week of October. The DOW, Nasdaq and S&P 500 are holding above the 200 day moving average and that is positive. The index funds and etf funds have been starting higher and moving lower and finishing lower the last 3 days and that is disturbing. The advanced decline volume reached some extreme lows on the way down and that usually gives us an indication the stock market may move higher. However there are concerns in the stock market. The monthly charts are showing some divergences and the overall market may be ready to start a long term down turn.

What is the difference between NASDAQ, S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industiral Average? In this video we are talking about Americas most important stock indices. What are the differences, why are there so many indices? Why do we need a NASDAQ, S&P 500 and Dow Jones? Video about market capitalization: https://youtu.be/7ueXP7AcGUM Indices got especially popular due to ETFs (Exchange Traded Funds). They are representing a market that is comprised of several financial products (stocks) and is weighted after a certain characteristic. Indices show us how the markets move and also represent the state of our economies. Charticon in Thumbnail: Icon made by Freepik from www.flaticon.com Who makes this video? The 3 Major Indexes and Theirs ETFs on the Big Move

11:05
I have been covering the whole market correction even before we had this correction in February 2018. These three major indexes - The Dow Jones - S&P 500 and Russell 2000 were trending into a range. But lately Russell 2000 and S&P 500 get out of the correction. Unfortunately The Dow is still in the correction. My perception of the market tells me that the Dow will recover and get out of the correction easily in next few weeks. The whole market is moving up and the big trends are way up. So if you use my way of searching stocks, it is the best time to do so. For those who want to save too much money you have only 24 hours in this 4th of September to act. ETFs vs. Index Funds: Investing 101 w/ Doug Flynn, CFP

05:34
Doug Flynn, CFP, of Flynn Zito Capital Management, LLC on ETFs vs. Index Funds. Ali: Explain the difference between an ETF and a mutual fund... Doug: Well an ETF is a mutual fund that you know and love, but it trades on the exchange, so you can buy throughout the day. Versus a traditional fund which trades once a day at the end of the day. Ali: Okay, so let's talk about index funds, which really came first. First you had stocks, then you had index funds. Doug: Yes, an index fund is just trying to replicate a particular index, which you can't invest in directly, but this is a way to replicate that. So if you like the stocks in the S&P 500, or the stocks in the Dow... Ali: It used to be that you could just read about the stocks in the Dow or the S&P 500, and buy the individual stocks. If you wanted to, you could buy all thirty in the Dow... Doug: That's right. Ali: But then, we came up with index funds, which said, "You can do the Dow, you can do the S&P 500, you can do the Nasdaq, you can do...I don't know...Easter European industries. Doug: Exactly, and that is going to track an index, there isn't a lot of trading or active management in there. You can do that in a traditional mutual fund format or in an ETF, which is the exchange traded version of that, which just means it trades throughout the day. Ali: Generally speaking, index brought the management fees, these fees associated with mutual funds, down, because there's not somebody doing a lot of active work, and ETFs brought them down further. Doug: Correct. Ali: So why would I choose one vs. the other? Doug: So if you buy an ETF, you're typically placing a trade like a stock. So, if you're with an online broker, they're typically going to charge you some type of a trading fee to do that, whereas a mutual fund may have a minimum, but won't necessarily have a transaction charge to do that. There are some cases where that isn't the case. Ali: If you're doing this for fees, you better look at this and understand that you're paying for trades. Doug: Yeah. Most people are putting money away each month. You know, one hundred dollars per month is what they're doing. You can't really do that with an ETF because you're making a transaction every single time. That's where a mutual fund might be better. Ali: So you're putting one hundred bucks a month away, but you're paying ten dollars for the transaction, you gotta weigh that in. Doug: Maybe you use the index fund for a little while, and then you have $10,000, and then you can actually do those transactions. So that's where you might want it in different ways. And that's where it's cheaper. Like anything else, the more money you have, it might be a little bit cheaper. Ali: One thing you warn is not all ETFs are created equal. What do you mean by that? Doug: Well as an example, the two major providers, there's Vanguard, there's i Shares, which are two different providers of ETFs. And you have to look at the structure. And the structure of i shares in particular, they're completely separate, which means their tax ramifications are very low. They don't necessarily pay capital gains to speak of because they're just trading in and out of the ETF structure by itself: it's a stand-alone ETF. Vanguard did what is kind of a bolt-on to its existing mutual funds. What's happened there, is some cases, when the fund pays a capital gains distribution... Ali: Because they sold a stock at a profit... Doug: Right, a large institution wants to sell a bunch of their funds, it transfers into the ETF itself. So all ETFs are not created equal, and you should look at, if I want bond index ETFs, look a little bit deeper and look where are there capital gains distributions. Many people know there are these issues in traditional mutual funds that are actively managed. And they don't scroll down and see if there are differences between the different ETF providers. Ali: And of course that makes a difference depending on how you're investing. Whether this is inside a tax-preferred investment, or it's just out in the open. Doug: If it's an IRA it doesn't really matter, but if it's in a taxable accound, the last thing you want is further tax surprises you thought you were avoiding by being in ETF format. Ali: This is a business for people who feel they're not going to outperform the market with their own selections. Doug: Exactly, you've said in a particular area I don't think I can bring value, I can't find a manager who will bring value in a particular are, I'm just going to index then. And as a portfolio manager and as people who manage money, there are times when we find that you can't bring value with managers, and that they're out of favor, and you might index more. But we're agnostic.

Follow Warren Buffett: Buying the S&P500 Index (SPY vs VOO vs Vanguard)

http://www.lifestyletrading101.com The famous and most successful investor of all-time Warren Buffett recommends buying a low-cost index fund spread out over time (dollar-cost averaging). Specifically, he recommends the Vanguard S&P500 Index Fund. Of course, there are multiple ways you can take on Buffett’s recommendation to invest in the index fund and we’ll talk about the most popular ones here with a look at pros and cons of each. Holders of these index funds are typically eligible for dividends when you hold into the Ex-Div Date. Should you Trade the Dow Jones or S&P 500? 🔑

10:29
★ Should you trade the Dow or S&P500? ★ Trade Dow or S&P500 at http://www.financial-spread-betting.com/spreadbetting/Ayondo-compare.html ★ If you found value in watching this video, PLEASE LIKE AND SHARE so we can do more! Which is better to trade or invest in, S&P 500 or Dow Jones? Dow: Spread on the Dow goes from 1.6 to 5.8 S&P 500: Spread on the S&P500 0.4 to 0.9; the tighter spreads are when the USA cash session is open so 2.30pm to 9pm UK time. Dow: Margin typically is 0.5% S&P 500: Margin typically is 0.5% Dow trades rounds the clock S&P 500: 14.30 to 23.00 The average true range of the Dow Jones is about 175 points as I'm recording this while the average true range of the S&P 500 is about 16 points. This is where things get a little bit different. So comparatively speaking, the bid-offer spread on the Dow Jones is better than the S&P. The percentage of the spread compared to the atr is more competitive on the Dow Jones; however the S&P 500 trades in 0.25 increments and 4 will make 1 point. The S&P 500 tends to be more stable as opposed the Dow Jones so you're less likely to be taken out on everyday noise.

Stock Market Index | by Wall Street Survivor

What is a stock market index? Learn more at: https://www.wallstreetsurvivor.com An index, like the DOW, the S&P500 or the NASDAQ, is a sample of stocks that provide insight into the broader market. When someone says "the market is up 10 points today", they are referring to an index. By measuring the compilation of similar stocks instead of just one or two stocks, a stock index provides information about that particular market or segment. One of the most talked about and popular indexes is The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) which consists of 30 of the biggest companies in the U.S. Stock indices are typically related by some commonality: for example, the Dow Jones Wilshire 5000 is an index that measures or tracks almost every publicly traded stock in the United States. The Morgan Stanley Biotech Index is a small index that follows the biotechnology market. Each stock index has a specific focus that can provide highly specific or very generalized information. The Next Stock Market Crash? | Passive Investing & Index ETFs Explained

05:52
Is passive investing safe? Will index ETFs save you in the next market crash? Or will both of these things cause the next crash? That’s what we’ll be talking about in this video. ***This video is sponsored by Real Vision*** One investment style has dominated the financial landscape for the bull market of the 2010’s. Like it or not passive investing, in the form of buy and hold index funds , (mostly ETFs) has ballooned in terms of attracting capital. But does all this passive “dumb money” add extra risk? Has the zombie apocalypse already begun in the form of blind passive investing! This is a crucial topic philosophically to many of us because frankly if you’re here you’re more likely to be active and you probably on some level reject the Efficient market Hypothesis. But cheap money as we looked at in our bubble series has been a nice environment for buying… well anything at any time. It’s made bull market geniuses of many, and humiliated some big named Hedge Fund managers like Bill Ackman who runs Pershing Square. Bill Ackman see's a risk in such a concentration of stock ownership by passive investors in terms of how stock ownership has been a means of checks and balances on corporate America. As an activist the last thing he wants is equity owners that have no interest in holding corporate boards accountable. A 2016 study by S&P Dow Jones Indices showed that about 90 percent of active stock managers failed to beat their index targets over the previous one-year, five-year and 10-year periods; fees explain a significant part of that underperformance. In their defense, active managers say that the period since the financial crisis of 2008 has been an abnormal one, with many stocks moving in lockstep, rather than trading on their individual earning prospects. Dow Jones Industrials vs Nasdaq 100 Techncial Signs QQQ DIA ETF Index Fund http://www.wisdominvestor.com Subscribe for Free We are comparing the Dow Jones Industrials to the Nasdaq 100 to determine which is stronger and which is weaker. The Nasdaq 100 QQQ ETF is weighted toward 5 technical stocks. These 5 stocks make up 40% of the Nasdaq 100 and QQQ. Right now the technical indicators favor the Nasdaq 100. The Dow Jones and DIA ETF are showing some weakness with very little thrust to the upside. The volume to the upside is weak and it would not take much selling to get the DIA ETF index fund or the Dow to roll over to the downside. The Advance Decline percentage for the Dow is showing weakness as well is the number of stocks above the 200 day moving average. The technical indicators are moving higher on lower volume. The top 5 stocks in the Dow and DIA are mixed with the financials the weakest. The new highs to lows is improving for the QQQ and Nasdaq 100 and the technical indicators are moving higher on much less volume.

🔵 Is The NASDAQ Index Fund Stock A Buy ❓ The Best Index Funds 🔵

05:11
🔵 Monk's Market Moves: http://bit.ly/MonkMM - Be The First To See All My Stock Trades! 🔵 Index funds are a great way to get exposure to many stocks in the stock market. You're investing in a huge combination of companies so index funds are much safer and more diversified. The Nasdaq 100 index fund is the perfect fund for the technology lover. The S&P 500 is very safe but has 500 companies compared to the Nasdaq 100 with 100 companies. The Nasdaq has companies like Apple stock, Microsoft stock, Amazon stock, Nvidia stock, Comcast stock, Paypal stock, Netflix stock, Facebook stock and many other technology stocks. It had a gain of 141% in the past 5 years, compare this to the S&P 500 with only 70% in gains. The Nasdaq has less value than the S&P 500 but higher gains. During the last market crash, the Nasdaq did better than the S&P 500 because it recovered 2 years faster. Warren Buffett really recommends the average investor to buy the index. If you can handle more risk with less companies, the Nasdaq might be the index fund for you. Focusing on just technology means a crash could affect this index harder than the S&P 500 so be prepared for such a risk. If you think technology will keep growing in the future, then the Nasdaq 100 is for you.

If we look outside the Dow Jones we obviously look at indices like the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq 100. The S&P 500 being made of 500 different companies does give a broader picture of the economy. The Nasdaq on the other hand is mainly a technology driven index and Apple plays a big part of the index

Stock Market Good News

From the three major indexes ( indices ) The Dow Jones, S&P 500 and Russell 2000, two of them have already crossed the resistance line and one of them is still under but still strong. The best of them is Russell 2000 where its ETF IWM iShares Russell 2000 Index Fund ETF. It crosses the resistance line the first on 5/17/2018 making a new trend apparent. That means hundreds of stocks are trending now. This is the opportunity to find ETFs in sectors or industries or even stocks. The second one which also crosses the resistance line is S&P 500. SPY SPDRS S&P 500 Trust series ETF crossed the resistance line on 8/24/2017 which is typically new. The last one is Dow Jones by its ETF DIA SPDR Dow Jones Industrial Average ETF. It is still under the resistance line. I get the feeling that Dow jones will follow in few days or weeks. If this happens, the big trend of 2017 will continue to 2019. Thus, the bull market will start again. I offer free training on stock trading. Dangers Associated With Inverse and Leveraged ETF Trading - Attorney Denver Seattle

03:47
ETFs (or Exchange Traded Funds) have become increasingly popular over the last 15 years. ETFs are typically used to track and replicate the performance of an index, such as the S&P 500, the Russell 2000, or the Dow Jones. ETFs are popular, because investors can invest in a basket of securities that provides diversification but with the simplicity of being a single stock. In recent years, many companies have also created leveraged or inverse ETFs. Leveraged ETFs try to replicate the performance of a particular index, but attempt to replicate the performance by doubling or even tripling the index. As an example, the Proshares Ultra Russell 2000 ETF seeks to double the performance of the Russell 2000 Index. Inverse ETFs also try to replicate the opposite (or even multiple opposites) of a particular index. For example, Ultrashort QQQ Shares seeks a return of two times the inverse (-2x) of the daily performance of the NASDAQ-100 Index. Leveraged and inverse ETFs can be useful investment tools for investors seeking intra-day trading. However, inverse and leveraged ETFs are often misused, by retail investors and even financial advisors. The regulators and others have long-warned the securities industry about the dangers of inverse and leveraged ETFs. These are designed to be day-trading vehicles, but often financial advisors recommend holding these ETFs in an investor’s accounts for weeks or even months. Like we told traders when we had the last down move. We're going into earnings season and the move has been based on short sellers covering and a lower US dollar. The same gimmick we saw a few years back. We had a negative employment report today and Wall Street to the other side of the trade and took these markets higher on a drop down bid. We're approaching a monthly buy signal on the monthly Dow Jones Industrial Average MACD reading. Starting 10/1 we starting to see a powerful monthly buy signal come in as we clear a positive MACD reading of 27.30 on a current monthly chart. Mind you these "buy signals" do not come on a frequent level and the trend reading is not final until 11,204 is your current resistance going into the earnings season and we're seeing equity prices at 52 week highs. We will Buy the rumor and sell the news. Dow Breaks 11000 As Equities continue higher. Dow Ends Above 11000 for First Time in 5 Months. Dow Breaks Above 11000!
