We ride Refugio Road up to the crest of the mountain and catch Camino Ceilo, a hard pull up to the peak along the ridge, then up and down till we drop off on the Old San Marcos Road, into town, sleep in the park, pick up Fed Ex bus. cards in the morning, and 11 miles south of Santa Barbara till we find a place to put Hampton up, another sleepless night, and long day.

A bit behind on video uploading... but video of the Gaviota Pass Hike in Goleta, CA. A great scenic hike that takes you through multiple landscapes! A relatively easy hike where we even ran into friendly locals who would go for runs on the weekend. Around 7 miles roundtrip. The view of the coast is breathtaking and there's even small hot springs not too far from the entrance of the hike. Watch out for poison oak... it was everywhere D: Music: Maroon 5-Sugar I do not own the copyright for this material

Mountain biking singletrack in Santa Barbara. Trail is San Ysidro, great trail with good speed, tight switchbacks, some drops, some rock gardens and ruts to launch over. Great downhill, horrible hike back up. Shuttle is a must for more than one enjoyable run. This ride also killed my helmet cam, which is why the footage is so sparse. New and improved version to follow...

In this vlog Hueneme and I hike up to The Gaviota Wind Caves! Located off U.S. Highway 101 in Santa Barbara county, CA. These are quite unique caves, carved from the way the wind moves in the area. The hike is about 4 miles round trip at about 600 feet elevation. Definitely a beautiful hike and an amazing experience! Enjoy!! http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=trailandmountain http://www.trailandmountain.com In this episode I'm reviewing a popular trail in Santa Barbara, CA. Santa Cruz trail is a strenuous 12.5 mile day hike in the back country of Santa Barbara. You will need at least 2 liters of water for this hike. You are also going to need an adventure pass. You can purchase one of these on the way. It is not a hike for beginners. I would rate this hike a 3 on the difficulty level out of 5. I provide non-biased outdoor gear, trail and other outdoor related video reviews. Outdoor consulting and guided adventures. Out here, valet parking is a hitching post or a big patch of dirt for your ATV. Bottle service is the canteen you take on your hike with you. And celebrity chefs? Yeah, we got them too – every small town’s got a café cook who’s famous for miles. We’ve got a different way of looking at things… for a whole different kind of adventure. We hiked the portions of the Pentachaeta Trail and Westlake Vista Trail in Triunfo Creek Park in Westlake Village, CA. We began on an established trail and then took a "use" trail shortly after that. This consisted of miles of bushwhacking while ascending and descending steep, rocky terrain. At times, we could feel the terrain collapsing beneath every step. I have learned to never trust the rocks in the Santa Monica Mountains. Most of them move. They move under your feet, and they break away when you grab them to try and keep your balance or prevent a fall. I witnessed quite a few falls during this adventure, and three of them were mine. Two of my falls were caught on video. This conquest was four years in the making for our group leader, Paul. It was great to see him complete this journey and be along for the ride.

Mountain biking San Luis Obispo TV Tower Rd. Over-shot one turn then almost collided with a car coming around a corner. Video recorded on an older Hero 2 GoPro.

I tried my new Chesty GoPro mount and I'm finding the camera is still pointing down too much. I'd like to have it angled up more but not sure how to do it. Do I need another attachment so I can tilt the camera back more? The trail is somewhat technical at first and has multiple drop offs. Not a trail for beginners.

Very nice trail run! The course was well marked with a moderate difficulty (mostly due to the sandy/rocky part in the river bed). The elevation gain of 400ft. It is the only one that I've come across with a cash prize for the top three male and female finishers. That's really cool! 10k (6.2 miles) trail run at Irvine Regional Park. I finished 5th overall, 1st in my age division (35-44). My unofficial time was 41:36. That is a 6:51 per mile pace. There are many different events in this series all year!
