There was a lot of large round river rock that gave away the location but it was buried for years until now. We also had to get permission from the city to dig here so please keep that in mind when looking. There's still gold in these hills The gold rushes of the 19th century have long since ended, but there are still plenty of places you can hunt for the precious metal using a shovel, pan, metal detector and more. In fact, recreational gold mining is a pastime these days for many people, and for good reason: the largest nugget ever found in California was discovered by an amateur. Here are some key locations worldwide that you can still prospect for the yellow metal – you never know, you may get lucky and strike it rich. Gold is everywhere in Suriname, from political power to what the locals wear on their fingers, the effects of gold mining seep into all aspects of society. The industry is a necessary source of income for many Surinamese, but it's also destroying the environment, bad for public health, and rife with corruption. VICE Netherlands went to Suriname to see how gold is intertwined with everyday life in the country. They ride along with 'Jungle' Ronnie Brunswick - an ex-rebel leader who waged a violent civil war but is now a successful businessman, owning thousands of hectares of gold mining land. VICE Netherlands also witnessed the dangers of mercury, which is used widely in the recovery of gold, and visited Benz Village, where everything in life is paid for with gold. FIRST LOOK Inside the FEDERAL RESERVE, USD, CASH, GOLD monetary SYSTEM - Americas Money Vault, National Geographic Full Episode PART 1 For the first time, National Geographic takes you inside the heart of the money machine to places that you're not allowed to bring a camera ...straight into the vaults of some of the world's largest stashes of what you want, need and bust your butt to get: Money. Hidden deep under the streets of New York City, hundreds of billion dollars in gold bars are tucked away in a bunker that is anchored to the bedrock of Manhattan Island itself. In the latest in a string of high-profile hacking disclosures, the Federal Reserve confirmed on Wednesday that one of its websites was broken into by cyber hackers in a breach that reportedly leaked the contact information of thousands of bankers. While the central bank said the incident didn't "affect critical operations" of the Federal Reserve System, the disclosure is sure to fuel concerns about the cyber security of government websites and critical financial infrastructure. The Fed hack appears to be tied to an Anonymous group that published on Twitter the credentials of more than 4,000 commercial bankers early Monday morning. The group, Operation Last Resort, said it received the documents "via the FED." Call it the Rick Perry gold rush: The governor wants to bring the state's gold reserves back from a New York vault to Texas. And he may have legislative support to do it. Freshman Rep. Giovanni Capriglione, R-Southlake, is carrying a bill that would establish the Texas Bullion Depository, a secure state-based bank to house $1 billion worth of gold bars owned by the University of Texas Investment Management Co., or UTIMCO, and stored by the Federal Reserve. "If you think gold is a hedge, or a protection, you always want it as close to the individual and the entity as possible," Paul told The Texas Tribune on Thursday. "Texas is better served if it knows exactly where the gold is rather than depending on the security of the Federal Reserve." Sadly, most Americans don't even realize that a private banking cartel has a monopoly over all money creation in this country. In recent years they have abused this power by wildly printing money ("quantitative easing"), and by making more than 16 trillion dollars in secret loans to their friends during the last financial crisis. "Neither the Treasury Department nor the Federal Reserve believes that the law can or should be used to facilitate the production of platinum coins for the purpose of avoiding an increase in the debt limit" remaining alternative to Congress raising the nation's borrowing limit, which would utilize a loophole in federal law to mint a $1 trillion coin to be deposited in the Federal Reserve and ensure the federal government could pay all bills and debt obligations. gold, money, cash fed, "federal reserve" ,bank ,banking ,bankers ,system, matrix ,monetary ,vault, "armored vehicle", police, cops, control, mafia, episode, tv, show, america ,u.s, "united states", american, nyc, "new york" ,"new york city" ,"gold bullion" ,"scrap gold", "buy gold", "sell gold" ,"silver coins" ,"silver bullion", "u.s. mint" ,inside, "first look" ,usd ,dollar ,crash, crisis, trust, etf, "paper gold" ,stocks, trading, investment, investing, future, world, global, supply, debt, 2013, forces, vault ,control, illuminati, new world order ,alex jones, infowars, gerald celente, david icke ,farrakhan ,lindsey williams, tvfirst123 You can thank the reckless money printing that the Federal Reserve has been doing for the incredible bull market that we have seen in recent months. When the Federal Reserve does more "quantitative easing", it is the financial markets that benefit the most. The Dow and the S&P 500 have both hit levels not seen since 2007 this month, and many analysts are projecting that 2013 will be a banner year for stocks. But is a rising stock market really a sign that the overall economy is rapidly improving as many are suggesting? Of course not. Just because the Federal Reserve has inflated another false stock market bubble Barack Obama has been president, 40 percent of all American workers are making $20,000 a year or less, median household income has declined for four years in a row, and poverty in the United States is absolutely exploding. So quantitative easing has definitely not made things better for the middle class. But all of the money printing that the Fed has been doing has worked out wonderfully for Wall Street. Profits are soaring at Goldman Sachs and luxury estates in the Hamptons are selling briskly. Unfortunately, this is how things work in America these days. Our "leaders" seem far more concerned with the welfare of Wall Street than they do about the welfare of the American people. When things get rocky, their first priority always seems to be to do whatever it takes to pump up the financial markets Category Entertainment License Standard YouTube License

The Homestake Mine was a deep underground gold mine located in Lead, South Dakota. Until it closed in 2002 it was the largest and deepest gold mine in North America. The mine produced more than 40 million troy ounces (approximately 1.25 million kilograms) of gold during its lifetime. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * History of the Homestake Mine: The Homestake deposit was discovered by Fred and Moses Manuel, Alex Engh and Hank Harney in April 1876, during the Black Hills Gold Rush. A trio of mining entrepreneurs, George Hearst, Lloyd Tevis, and James Ben Ali Haggin, bought it from them for $70,000 the following year. George Hearst arrived at the mine in October 1877, and took active control of the property. Hearst had to haul in all the mining equipment by wagons from the nearest railhead in Sidney, Nebraska. Arthur De Wint Foote worked as an engineer. Despite the remote location, an 80-stamp mill began crushing Homestake ore in July 1878. The partners sold shares in the Homestake Mining Company, and listed it on the New York Stock Exchange in 1879. The Homestake would become one of the longest-listed stocks in the history of the NYSE (Con Edison's original name was New York Gas Light and was listed in 1824). Hearst consolidated and enlarged the Homestake property by fair and foul means. He bought out some adjacent claims, and secured others in the courts. By the time Hearst left the Black Hills in March 1879, he had added the claims of Giant, Golden Star, Netty, May Booth, Golden Star No. 2, Crown Point, Sunrise, and General Ellison to the original two claims of the Manuel Brothers, Golden Terra and Old Abe, totaling 30 acres. The ten-stamp mill had become 200, and 500 employees worked in the mine, mills, offices and shops. He owned the Boulder Ditch and water rights to Whitewood Creek, monopolizing the region. His railroad, Black Hills & Fort Pierre Railroad, gave him access to eastern Dakota territory. By 1900, the Homestake owned 300 claims, on 2000 acres, and was worked by more than 2000 employees. In 1901, the mine started using compressed air locomotives, replacing the mules and horses by the 1920s. Charles Washington Merrill introduced cyanidization to augment mercury-amalgamation for gold recovery. "Cyanide Charlie" finally achieved 94 per cent recovery. The gold was shipped to the Denver Mint. By 1906, the Ellison Shaft reached 1,550 feet, the B&M 1,250 feet, the Golden Star 1,100 feet, and the Golden Prospect 900 feet, producing 1,500,000 tons of ore. A disastrous fire struck on 25 March 1907, which took forty days to extinguish after the mine was flooded. Another disastrous fire struck in 1919. In 1927, company geologist Donald H. McLaughlin used a winze from the 2,000 level to demonstrate ore reached the 3,500 foot level. The Ross shaft was started in 1934, a second winze from the 3,500 foot level reached 4,100 feet, and a third winze from 4,100 feet was started in 1937. The Yates shaft was started in 1938. Production ceased from 1943 until 1945, due to Limitation Order L-208 from the Government. By 1975, mining operations has reached the 6,800 foot level, and two winzes were planned to 8,000 feet. The United States mine is located just outside of Cottonwood, Arizona, in the North Verde Mining District. The mine was worked as an open pit, therfore there are no underground workings. The mine has an extensive history of production and a massive amount of work was done at the site. Historically, the United States mine was worked for gold, copper, and silver, and the entire area is littered with copper ore. The ores are rich and in good supply, but will need to be processed in bulk to be profitable.

India According to the World Gold Council, the Bank of India currently holds 557.7 tons of gold. It is one of the largest stores of gold in the world! This makes up 9.9 % of the country’s total foreign reserve. Foreign exchange reserves is money or other assets held by a nation’s central bank so they can back the national currency. India, home to 1.25 billion people, is the number one largest consumer of the precious metal. Furthermore, India is one of the most reliable drivers of global demand. For example, India’s festival and wedding season, which runs from October to December, has historically been a major market for gold. And probably, one of the most interesting facts about India and gold is that India rarely invests much in gold. This is because as a country, India operates under the belief that buying gold leads to a deficit. And their belief must be proving right as things also seem to be improving for India. For instance, if you look at the last few years, India has increased its gold reserves from 557.74 to 557.77. While this might not seem like a lot, India is also at its highest point in history! In addition to what the country holds, Indian households which are considered the world’s largest hoarders of gold, hold a record 23,000-24,000 tons, which is worth about $800 billion. 9.) Netherlands In the past few years, the Netherlands has held 52% of its foreign reserve in gold. The Netherlands has a reported 612.45 tons. In 2016 it was reported that the bank was looking for a place to store all its gold because they were going to renovate the vaults and needed to moving it. The Dutch central bank is planning to move the country’s gold reserves from the center of Amsterdam to a new complex called the Cash Center. Like most countries, Dutch gold is also held in banks around the world to reduce risk. Security measures to guard the gold 24/7 have become a problem in Amsterdam. 189,000 kilos of gold will be moved at the beginning of 2022. Maybe this is one reason that over the last decade and a half, the Netherlands was selling off tons of gold in order to reduce its reserve. However, there weren’t that many buyers out there and they sold less than the country wanted. More recently the country has had less ambition to sell gold. Currently, the country holds the same amount of tons, 612.45 that they have over the last few years. However, the country has increased its percentage of foreign reserves to 61.2 %. 8.) Japan Japan is another country which had been increasing its gold reserves since the 1960’s. Their official gold holdings were reported at 765.2 tons. About 2.4% of Japan’s gold today is in foreign reserve. Historically, Japan has always held a bit more gold than other countries. This was true until 2011, when they began to sell some of their reserve in order to pump money into the economy after the tsunami and the following Fukushima nuclear disaster. But even with selling, Japan’s central bank has been one of the most aggressive practitioners of quantitative easing. For example, in January of 2016, it lowered interest rates below zero, which has helped fuel demand in gold around the world. 7.) Switzerland Prior to 1997, Switzerland was steadily building its gold reserves. In 1997, the decision was made to sell some of those reserves to bolster the Swiss currency and diversify the foreign reserves. The percent of foreign reserves in Switzerland is currently 6.7 %. Switzerland actually has the world’s largest reserves of gold per capita and currently has reported 1,040 tons. Over time, many citizens in the country started to feel like the bank was getting rid of too much gold. They then banded together with the “Save the Swiss” movement. However, once everyone was able to vote in 2014, the vote came to a no, and gold continued to be sold. During World War II, Switzerland became the center of the gold trade in Europe, making transactions with both the Allies and Axis powers. Today, much of its gold trading is done with Hong Kong and China. Around last year, the Swiss National Bank made a $5.9 billion profit, reportedly from its gold holdings. In 2006, Keith Barron found the largest gold deposit in Ecuador's history, changing both his life and, potentially, the future of the entire country. Ecuador is one of the most mineral rich countries in the world, but the vast majority of it had not been explored because it's covered in mountains and jungle. So Ecuador stopped letting foreign explorers in while it established a formal royalty system and implemented an official set of regulations. The ban lasted almost a decade—it was only lifted two years ago. But now that it's over, foreign explorers are rushing back to see what they can find, including Barron, who thinks he's close to finding his next big treasure. VICE News traveled to the Amazon to see what modern day gold hunting looks like, how Ecuador is dealing with its new gold rush, and whether Barron is actually about to strike gold again. Appalachian Prospectors Hillbilly John and Prospector Jack are on a stream in Northern New Jersey test panning for gold on a warm day in February of 2017. They are at this location because a test sample from the U.S. Geological Survey shows that there may be gold to be found in this location. This location was mined in the late 1600s by the Dutch, they were mining copper.

The Advance mine is abundant in history as a Gold mine up until the 1940s. In lieu of the World War 2 War-Minerals Act L-208, many mines of the era either re-branded as "essential" metals, or shutdown entirely. Fast forward to 2016 and the Advance Mine is no longer standing proud as she once was. Reclamation efforts have destroyed mining structures, backfilled adits, and left trash littered around the site. Unfortunately the artifact remnants of this mine’s history have largely been destroyed.

Armed robbers stole $8.5 million dollars worth of gold from a Canadian-owned mine refinery in western Mexico on Tuesday. The robbery occurred at the facility of Canadian company McEwen in Mexico's Sinaloa state on early Tuesday, Noroeste reported. Mexican authorities said the robbery was likely an inside job, CHEK reported Eight men armed with rifles entered the mine and reportedly handcuffed two workers at the mine before taking the keys to various doors from one of the workers. They were able to enter the vault as the door was left open since the day before, according to Noroeste. McEwen Mining said an estimated 900 kilograms of gold-bearing concentrate containing approximately 7,000 ounces of gold were stolen from the refinery. The amount of stolen gold equals to one-sixth of its annual production, according to teleSUR. McEwen Mining said its insurance policy was insufficient to cover the loss. ------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to TomoNews, where we animate the most entertaining news on the internets. With shocking evidence now uncovered, Zimbabwe's diamond trade faces suspension. "We were told here are the guns, sitting in the truck, do you want to stay?" says Andrew Cranswick, CEO of the mining company who owns the rights to mine diamonds in Marange. After his company was evicted, the Marange fields were opened up to the people and tens of thousands of Zimbabweans came to dig, paying the police a commission. Yet the police didn't always play fair - "$15 million worth of diamonds were confiscated", says one former miner and soon the police were replaced by Mugabes own military. "Mugabe needed a way to buy the loyalty of the army" says Ken Roth, "the military were ordered to kill". In the first week of November, helicopter gunships launched a massacre on the Marange diamond fields. Evidence has been collected of 200 deaths. Those who weren't killed were raped or crippled. "They told us if we wanted to go home we had to sleep with the men", says one woman, "the soldiers watched and laughed". Next month, the Kimberley process, the international body charged with stopping trade in conflict diamonds, will decide whether Zimbabwe should be suspended. Yet with many Western governments involved in Zimbabwe's diamond trade, a former delegate of the Kimberley process believes this deadly business may yet be protected. National Bureau of Mines: http://www.nationalbureauofmines.org/ In 1882 reports from the Brittle Silver state that the ore ran from $150 to $1200 to the ton, in a vein of 18 inches of sulfide of silver, which could be amalgamated at little expense. Today, with inflation, that dollar amount would be worth $3,625 to $28,998 per ton, a truly remarkable mine. Surveyors noted beautiful ores inside the mine with over 1900 feet of workings.

Had to make a few amendments A reading from ancient America Donald J. McMahon Symbologist/Researcher on the missing copper from Michigan. was there an ancient prehistoric PreDeluvian worldwide culture existing? People like Columbus were useful fools used as pawns, I never understood how it is Columbus gets the title of the one who discovered America when he didn't even land there, he landed way south It's not like he discovered Virginia or New York. He didn't even land in the US. Mainstream historians, archeology, geology All of the-ology's are in line with the church still. when you put them together it spells theology! Music from Doug Maxwell/Media right productions.video source material from http://ancientamerica.com/missing-pre... and Science frontiers - http://www.science-frontiers.com/cat-... Also music from Les Hayden" Not Really" I can no longer find it NOTE: When I mention the singling out the first "White man" to see Michigan copper, What it should have maybe been was the first Spaniard to see Michigan copper.Would he then represent all Spaniards? I would think not Or European man one can not clump people according to what shade of brown they are.Have you ever seen the experiment a teacher did with her students where each day she would designate a certain eye color that was to be ostracized for the day and right away the kids saw the schism of it all, for example, today all kids except those with blue eyes get to enjoy ice cream while blue-eyed kids must watch the others eat it something like that, I heard a wise person once say if you hate something you will come back in the next life as that what you hated, and I think that is a very good approach to take whether true or not . Just my thoughts on that, to be that way but it just continues Mike Wallace asked The actor Morgan Freeman how should we deal with it and he replied " Just stop talking about" I liked that answer. The name leaves little to the imagination in terms of location, but layout and access to the claim are extremely interesting and surprising. Not only is the claim easily 2WD accessible, but it also has a few buildings on it, and has several interesting structures. The historical miners of this claim were extremely ingenious, building their homes from the discarded waste rock of their operation, and living off of the land whenever possible. A massive claim, with so many items of interest that we couldn't even fit them all into the video.

Website: https://www.goldrushexpeditions.com/ Mining Claims for Sale: http://goldrushexpeditions.com/fb-mining-claims-for-sale/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/GoldRushExpedinc/ Just north of the famous Sunshine mine in a remote canyon, the Montezuma claim encompasses a group of adits and shafts exploring gold and silver deposits in the canyon. The mines have limited history that is well out of date. Our surveyors documented shafts, adits and some rather extensive workings which are not noted in any reports. The mines existed around a good sized mining camp on several levels of the valley. These camps were no doubt built for safety and security for the working miners as Native American attacks were a very real danger up into the early 1900s.

Visit Goldfield Ghost Town today! Walk down Main Street, explore the many shops and historic buildings. Tour the historic Mammoth Gold Mine and visit the Goldfield Museum. Pan for gold then take a ride on Arizona’s only narrow gauge train. You’ll also get to witness an old west gun fight performed by the famous Goldfield Gunfighters! Spend a fun filled day, rich in wild west history! Back in the 1890′s Goldfield boasted 3 saloons, a boarding house, general store, blacksmith shop, brewery, meat market and a school house. Just when it looked like the town would outgrow Mesa, the vein faulted, the grade of ore dropped and the town died a slow painful death. After several unsuccessful attempts to reopen the mines, the town did come to life again from 1910 on and off until 1926. After more than 115 years, travelers from all over the world still visit this gold mining town located on the historic Apache Trail and enjoy the excitement and grandeur of Arizona’s wild west!

United Nations, New York, September 2009 - Gold has been sought after since the beginning of human history. In these troubled times, it is seen as a safe investment. But as demand for this treasured metal grows, so too do its dangers to miners and the environment. Script of the story: http://www.org/webcast/pdfs/unia1199.pdf

"Streams of Gold" traces the history of an American gold mining company in Ecuador from the 1910s to the 1950s. Filmmaker John Tweedy returns to the old company town of Portovelo, where his grandfather worked as General Manager of the gold mines for 30 years, and where his father was born. Once there, Tweedy compares old family myths of his grandfather as a "capitalist missionary" with the painful stories of worker exploitation and violence told by local people. Archival film and photos from the 1920s and 30s combine with the recollections of old miners, their children and grandchildren to form a moving mosaic of the struggles of a town whose history was intertwined with an American company for three generations. Released in 2004, "Streams of Gold" was shown at over 20 film festivals in the U.S. and abroad, and was broadcast on Free Speech TV.
