How to find Latitude Longitude from Topographic Map

03:11
Generally speaking, when navigating from a map in Hiking, you use a topographic map and work from 8 digit Grid References. I generally use a 1:25,000 map where available. However, sometimes it may be necessary to use Latitude Longitude Co-ordinates, for example in an emergency you may need to quote this to rescue organisations. Here's how to read the Lat Long from a Toppo map. Subscribe to the blog at: http://lotsafreshair.com

Evidence Ancient Aliens Planned Humanity

07:06
Was earth visited in the past by Ancient Aliens flying UFOs around and telling there where to build their cities....perhaps hoping that one day in the future we would put together the clues? An uncanny and what seems to be a planned alignment of a multitude of ancient archeological sites around Earth strongly points towards humans of the past being guided, globally, and over many millennia by some sort of higher intelligence. Personally, my mind was absolutely blown once I manually connected all the sites on Google Earth myself, which is exactly what I’m about to do for you. At the end of the video, I expect your mind to be blown just as mine was. I also encourage you to try this out for yourself in Google Earth and replicate my results. Before we begin, please forgive me for butchering some of these names. Nearly all of these sites are considered what is known as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, sites that are of extreme special cultural or physical significance. 1) Easter Island: We’re going to start off with Easter Island, which is home to the mysterious Moai statues which were created around 800 years ago for reasons that still remain unknown. A total of 887 monolithic stone Moai statues have been counted. 2) Nazca Lines: The Nazca Lines are mysterious giant glyphs carved into the ground in the Nazca Desert of Peru. They were thought to be built around 1600 years ago - no one knows why they are there as they can only be seen from the sky...why would anyone do that when flight hadn't been invented yet? 3) Machu Picchu: Machu Piccu was built around 600 years ago at the height of the Incan Empire and allegedly as a means to honor a "sacred landscape." If you havn't heard of it before, it's a city literally built on top of a mountain by hand….with rocks sometimes weighing as much as 40 tons. 4) Tassili n'Ajjer Tassili n'Ajjer is a range of mountains in Algeria in the Sahara Desert. It contains some 15,000 ancient cave drawings some of which are up to 10,000 years old. Some of the carvings are a bit strange as well. 5) Persepolis Persepolis is the ancient capital of Persia. It was built around 2500 years ago. 6) Khajuraho Group of Monuments The Khajuraho Group of Monuments are 85 special temples to honor Hindu gods built around 1000 years ago. They were allegedly built in this area as it is an area where quote “the gods love to play” according to local legend. The temples are dedicated to various Hindu gods such as Shiva, Vishnu, Ganesha, and Jain Tithanks. 7) The Oasis at Siwa The Oasis at Siwa is estimated to be around 4,600 years old..and many believe it could be much older. It is famous for being the home of the Oracle of Amun. Amun was an Egyptian Diety. Alexander the Great believed that his divinity was a result of his visit to this oracle. 8) The Pyramids of Giza I'm sure you've heard of the Pyramids of Giza before. They were estimated to have been constructed around 4,600 years ago. 9) Mohenjo Daro Mohenjo Daro was built in around 4600 years ago. It is part of the ancient Indus Valley Civilization. The name literally translates to the Mound of the Dead. It is thought to be one of the world's earliest major urban settlements. 10) Angkor Wat Angkor Wat was built around 1000 years ago and was dedicated to the god Vishnu. According to a 13th Century Chinese traveler, it was allegedly believed that the temple was contructed in only one night by an architect of divine power. Now let’s complete our journey by connecting the final destination to our original one, Easter Island. Once we zoom out….do you see a pattern? ALL of these sites line up on the same line around the Earth. The line is, except for a few very minor deviations that may be due to the Earth slightly shifting over the many millenia these sites were constructed as well as perhaps partial user error on my part mapping these out…..perfect. It almost looks like an equator. The probability of this occuring by chance is basically zero. Why do all these ancient and quite important sites line up on the same line on Earth? Was someone guiding the construction of all these ancient sites? Why are so many if not all of the sites related to something divine….and what was that divinity? In order to orchestrate such a thing, these civilizations would have somehow had to have made contact with each other across the space of the entire planet as well as over the course of several millenia in addition to being able to basically see the Earth from space in order to create such an uncanny alignment. These arn't the only sites that line up either, there's quite a few more sites that line up as well as you can see here. I only cut some out for the sake of brevity. Once again I encourage you to try this out for yourself. Also, if you know of any mysteries you’d like me to cover in upcoming videos, leave a comment below or send me a message on Youtube.

Grasslands - CBSE Class V Social Science Lesson

03:29
Grasslands - CBSE Class V Social Scence Lesson by lesson by Soma Mukhopadhyay. About the Lesson: Grasslands are found in temperate zones while savannahs exist in more tropical areas. These are defined by the abundance of grass on large land areas without trees Most of the Grasslands are located in the Temperate Zone i.e between latitudes 23½ ° N and 66½ ° N in the Northern Hemisphere and between latitudes 23½ ° S and 66½ ° S in the Southern Hemisphere The Grasslands are known by different names in different parts of the world. Prairies in North America Pampas in South America Steppes in Russia Veld in South Africa Downs in Australia Savannas in Central Africa Vegetation and Climate Prairie is a French word meaning meadow or grassland. The grass is green in summer and turns brown in autumn. There are hardly any trees. The soil is very fertile due to large quantities of humus. Vegetation and Climate The prairies have hot summers and cold winters. Moderate rainfall occurs, mostly in summers. Vegetation and Climate Earlier the prairies were the grazing grounds for millions of bisons. But today most of the land has been cleared for agriculture, thus very few bisons can now be seen. Agriculture Water is available in plenty from the Mississippi and Missouri rivers and their tributaries. The soil here is fertile and is perfect for agriculture. The region is called the wheat basket of the world, which makes the United States of America the largest producer of wheat in the world. The other main crops grown are maize, barley, rye and oats. Rearing Cattle Cattle are raised for beef and dairy products. The cattle are sent to slaughter houses in the cities for the production of beef. Ranches and slaughter houses are equipped with modern machinery. The city of Chicago is an important centre for slaughtering animals. ____ Subscribe to our channel https://www.youtube.com/successcds1 SuccessCDs Education is an online channel focused on providing education through Videos as per CBSE, ICSE and NCERT syllabi upto Class 12 (K-12) for English,Maths, Hindi, Science, Social Science, Sanskrit and other subjects. What is ECONOMIC GEOGRAPHY? What does ECONOMIC GEOGRAPHY mean?

03:37
What is ECONOMIC GEOGRAPHY? What does ECONOMIC GEOGRAPHY mean? ECONOMIC GEOGRAPHY meaning - ECONOMIC GEOGRAPHY definition - ECONOMIC GEOGRAPHY explanation. Source: Wikipedia.org article, adapted under https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/ license. Economic geography is the study of the privats , distribution and spatial organization of economic activities across the world. It represents a traditional subfield of the discipline of geography. However, many economists have also approached the field in ways more typical of the discipline of economics. Economic geography has taken a variety of approaches to many different subject matters, including the location of industries, economies of agglomeration (also known as "linkages"), transportation, international trade, development, real estate, gentrification, ethnic economies, gendered economies, core-periphery theory, the economics of urban form, the relationship between the environment and the economy (tying into a long history of geographers studying culture-environment interaction), and globalization. The subject matter investigated is strongly influenced by the researcher's methodological approach. Neoclassical location theorists, following in the tradition of Alfred Weber, tend to focus on industrial location and use quantitative methods. Since the 1970s, two broad reactions against neoclassical approaches have significantly changed the discipline: Marxist political economy, growing out of the work of David Harvey; and the new economic geography which takes into account social, cultural, and institutional factors in the spatial economy. Economists such as Paul Krugman and Jeffrey Sachs have also analyzed many traits related to economic geography. Krugman called his application of spatial thinking to international trade theory the "new economic geography", which directly competes with an approach within the discipline of geography that is also called "new economic geography". The name geographical economics has been suggested as an alternative. With the rise of the New Economy, economic inequalities are increasing spatially. The New Economy, generally characterized by globalization, increasing use of information and communications technology, growth of knowledge goods, and feminization, has enabled economic geographers to study social and spatial divisions caused by the arising New Economy, including the emerging digital divide. The new economic geographies consist of primarily service-based sectors of the economy that use innovative technology, such as industries where people rely on computers and the internet. Within these is a switch from manufacturing-based economies to the digital economy. In these sectors, competition makes technological changes robust. These high technology sectors rely heavily on interpersonal relationships and trust, as developing things like software is very different from other kinds of industrial manufacturing—it requires intense levels of cooperation between many different people, as well as the use of tacit knowledge. As a result of cooperation becoming a necessity, there is a clustering in the high-tech new economy of many firms.

More about Heart of Darkness: Heart of Darkness is a novella written by Joseph Conrad. Before its 1903 publication, it appeared as a three-part series (1899) in Blackwood's Magazine. It was classified by the Modern Library website editors as one of the "100 best novels" and part of the Western canon. The story centres on Charles Marlow, who narrates most of the book. He is an Englishman who takes a foreign assignment from a Belgian trading company as a river-boat captain in Africa. Heart of Darkness exposes the dark side of European colonization while exploring the three levels of darkness that the protagonist, Marlow, encounters: the darkness of the Congo wilderness, the darkness of the Europeans' cruel treatment of the African natives, and the unfathomable darkness within every human being for committing heinous acts of evil. Although Conrad does not give the name of the river, at the time of writing the Congo Free State, the location of the large and important Congo River, was a private colony of Belgium's King Leopold II. In the story, Marlow is employed to transport ivory downriver. However, his more pressing assignment is to return Kurtz, another ivory trader, to civilization, in a cover-up. Kurtz has a reputation throughout the region. The flood had made, the wind was nearly calm, and being bound down the river, the only thing for it was to come to and wait for the turn of the tide. The sea-reach of the Thames stretched before us like the beginning of an interminable waterway. In the offing the sea and the sky were welded together without a joint, and in the luminous space the tanned sails of the barges drifting up with the tide seemed to stand still in red clusters of canvas sharply peaked, with gleams of varnished sprits. A haze rested on the low shores that ran out to sea in vanishing flatness. The air was dark above Gravesend, and farther back still seemed condensed into a mournful gloom, brooding motionless over the biggest, and the greatest, town on earth. The Director of Companies was our captain and our host. We four affectionately watched his back as he stood in the bows looking to seaward. On the whole river there was nothing that looked half so nautical. He resembled a pilot, which to a seaman is trustworthiness personified. It was difficult to realize his work was not out there in the luminous estuary, but behind him, within the brooding gloom. ...CONTINUED... #audiobook #audiobooks #free #freeaudiobooks #book #books #HeartOfDarkness #JosephConrad #GreatestAudioBooks Total running time: 4:38:45 Read by Bob Neufeld In addition to the reader, this audio book was produced by: Dedicated Proof-Listener: Rapunzelina Meta-Coordinator/Cataloging: Guero This is a Librivox recording. Sylvia Ann Hewlett: "Executive Presence" | Talks at Google

01:01:50
Do you exude confidence and credibility? Can you command a room? Sylvia Ann Hewlett, one of the world's most influential business thinkers, cracks the code of Executive Presence (EP). You might have the qualifications to be considered for your dream job, but you won't get it unless you can signal that you're "leadership material" and that you "have what it takes." Professionals are judged on presence as well as performance. Using a wealth of data, Hewlett reveals EP to be a dynamic mix of three things: how you act (gravitas), how you speak (communication) and how you look (appearance). Sylvia Ann Hewlett is the founding president of the Center for Talent Innovation, a Manhattan-based think tank where she chairs a Task Force of 82 multinational companies focused on fully realizing the new streams of labor in the global marketplace. John Irving Bloom: "Eccentric Orbits: The Iridium Story" | Talks at Google

57:25
Veteran investigative journalist John Bloom tells the greatest satellite story you've never heard, with special guests Dr. Ray Leopold and Dan Colussy. The Iridium satellite constellation--dreamed up by Dr. Ray Leopold and co. in the '90s--was intended to provide a cellular phone with signal at all ends of the Earth. As the dotcom bubble burst, and Motorola struggled to find buyers for its $5 billion project, the Iridium project was almost self-destructed out of orbit. But businessman Dan Colussy had other plans.

Climate Change and Health

54:48
Google Tech Talks October 30, 2006 Paul Epstein ABSTRACT Climate change has multiple direct and indirect consequences for human health. Heat waves affect health directly and are projected to take an increasing toll in developed and underdeveloped nations. The 2003 summer heatwave in Europe -- an event six standard deviations from the mean -- led to 21-35,000 excess deaths in five nations, extensive wildfires, crop failures, nuclear plant shutdowns and melted 10% of the Alpine glacial mass. This event and Hurricane Katrina in 2005 demonstrate that climate change and its impacts may be surprisingly non-linear. Credits: Speaker:Paul Epstein

Topographic map

23:32
In modern mapping, a topographic map is a type of map characterized by large-scale detail and quantitative representation of relief, using contour lines but, historically, using a variety of methods. Traditional definitions require a topographic map to show both natural and man-made features. A topographic map is typically published as a map series, made up of two or more map sheets that combine to form the whole map. A contour line is a combination of two line segments that connect but do not intersect; these represent elevation on a topographic map. This video is targeted to blind users. Carbon sink

38:45
A carbon sink is a natural or artificial reservoir that accumulates and stores some carbon-containing chemical compound for an indefinite period. The process by which carbon sinks remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere is known as carbon sequestration. Public awareness of the significance of CO2 sinks has grown since passage of the Kyoto Protocol, which promotes their use as a form of carbon offset. There are also different strategies used to enhance this process. This video is targeted to blind users. Attribution: Article text available under CC-BY-SA Creative Commons image source in video

Slovenia | Wikipedia audio article

01:45:13
This is an audio version of the Wikipedia Article: Slovenia Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago. Learning by listening is a great way to: - increases imagination and understanding - improves your listening skills - improves your own spoken accent - learn while on the move - reduce eye strain Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone. You can find other Wikipedia audio articles too at: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCuKfABj2eGyjH3ntPxp4YeQ In case you don't find one that you were looking for, put a comment. This video uses Google TTS en-US-Standard-D voice. SUMMARY ======= Slovenia ( ( listen) sloh-VEE-nee-ə; Slovene: Slovenija [slɔˈʋèːnija]), officially the Republic of Slovenia (Slovene: Republika Slovenija , abbr.: RS), is a country located in southern Central Europe at the crossroads of the main European cultural and trade routes. It is bordered by Italy to the west, Austria to the north, Hungary to the northeast, Croatia to the southeast, and the Adriatic Sea to the southwest. It covers 20,273 square kilometers (7,827 sq mi) and has a population of 2.07 million. One of the successor states of the former Yugoslavia, Slovenia is a parliamentary republic and a member of the United Nations, European Union, and NATO. The capital and largest city is Ljubljana.Slovenia is mostly mountainous with a mainly continental climate, with the exception of the Slovene Littoral, which has a sub-Mediterranean climate, and the northwest, which has an Alpine climate. Additionally, the Dinaric Alps and the Pannonian Plain meet on the territory of Slovenia. The country, marked by a significant biological diversity, is one of the most water-rich in Europe, with a dense river network, a rich aquifer system, and significant karst underground watercourses. Over half of the territory is covered by forest. The human settlement of Slovenia is dispersed and uneven.Slovenia has historically been the crossroads of Slavic, Germanic, and Romance languages and cultures. Although the population is not homogeneous, the majority is Slovene. The South Slavic language Slovene is the official language throughout the country. Slovenia is a largely secularized country, but its culture and identity have been significantly influenced by Catholicism as well as Lutheranism. The economy of Slovenia is small, open and export-oriented and has been strongly influenced by international conditions. It has been severely hurt by the Eurozone crisis, started in the late 2000s. The main economic field is services, followed by industry and construction.Historically, the current territory of Slovenia was part of many different states, including the Roman Empire, Byzantine Empire, Carolingian Empire and the Holy Roman Empire, the Habsburg Monarchy, Republic of Venice, French-administered Illyrian Provinces of Napoleon I., Austrian Empire and Austria-Hungary. In October 1918, the Slovenes exercised self-determination for the first time by co-founding the State of Slovenes, Croats and Serbs. In December 1918, they merged with the Kingdom of Serbia into the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes (renamed Kingdom of Yugoslavia in 1929). During World War II, Slovenia was occupied and annexed by Germany, Italy, and Hungary, with a tiny area transferred to the Independent State of Croatia, a Nazi puppet state. Afterward, it was a founding member of the Federal People's Republic of Yugoslavia, later renamed the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, a communist state which was initially allied with the Eastern Bloc, but later founded the Non-Aligned Movement. In June 1991, after the introduction of multi-party representative democracy, Slovenia split from Yugoslavia and became an independent country. In 2004, it entered NATO and the European Union; in 2007 became the first formerly communist country to join the Eurozone; and in 2010 joined the OECD, a global association of high-income developed countries.

Lightning

46:47
Lightning is a powerful sudden flow of electricity (an electrostatic discharge) accompanied by thunder that occurs during an electric storm. The discharge will travel between the electrically charged regions within a thundercloud, or between a cloud and a cloud, or between a cloud and the surface of a planet. The charged regions within the atmosphere temporarily equalize themselves through a lightning flash, commonly referred to as a strike if it hits an object on the ground. There are three primary types of lightning; from a cloud to itself (intra-cloud or IC); from one cloud to another cloud (CC) and between a cloud and the ground (CG). Although lightning is always accompanied by the sound of thunder, distant lightning may be seen but may be too far away for the thunder to be heard. This video is targeted to blind users. Forestry in India

33:53
Forestry in India is a significant rural industry and a major environmental resource. India is one of the ten most forest-rich countries of the world along with the Russian Federation, Brazil, Canada, United States of America, China, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Australia, Indonesia and Sudan. Together, India and these countries account for 67 percent of total forest area of the world. India's forest cover grew at 0.22% annually over 1990-2000, and has grown at the rate of 0.46% per year over 2000-2010, after decades where forest degradation was a matter of serious concern. As of 2010, the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations estimates India's forest cover to be about 68 million hectares, or 24% of the country's area. The 2013 Forest Survey of India states its forest cover increased to 69.8 million hectares by 2012, per satellite measurements; this represents an increase of 5,871 square kilometers of forest cover in 2 years. However, the gains were primarily in northern, central and southern Indian states, while northeastern states witnessed a net loss in forest cover over 2010 to 2012. How you can use Digital Satellite Finder to setting Direction of Tata Sky Dish Antenna : 1) First you connect a cable from the dish to the "LNBF IN" port of the satellite finder. 2) Then you connect another wire from the satellite finder to your satellite receiver's "TO DISH" or "LNBF IN" port. 3) Then hook your television to the "TV OUT" or "VIDEO OUT" of the satellite receiver. 4) Turn everything on. 5) Put the satellite receiver into the "Point Dish" screen. 6) Take the satellite FINDER and put it on its highest sensitivity setting. 7) Move the dish around (up/down/left/right) until the finder starts beeping. 8) When the satellite finder starts beeping turn its sensitivity down slowly until the beeping just stops. 9) Move the satellite dish around (up/down/left/right) until it starts beeping again. 10) Repeat the process until the television screen gets a good signal. Setting Signal in Tata sky Set-Top Box : To access this signal setting in Tata Sky Set-top Box, you can follow these simple steps: 1) Switch on set top box and press "Organiser" button on your Tata Sky remote 2) Now select "System Settings" menu in Tata Sky. In “System Settings”, you can see “Signal Strength” menu. 3) In “Signal Strength” you will see actually signal strength which your set-top box receiving from Tata-Sky Dish. Mostly technician from Tata sky comes with a Meter (Analogue or Digital Satellite Finder) to check the angle and direction, but you can do it with a high school geometry set for checking the angle and Direction too with the protractor (hope this is the one that has Degrees on it). Angel Direction for Tata Sky Dish : The antenna should be facing 148 degree South East (Direction), 48 Degree (elevation) Antenna angle. If you get 60% signal strength by this method, this is sufficient to receive the signals but mostly tuning will be done at 80% by the Tatasky Technician. Note : 1) Tata Sky was the second operator to launch DTH or direct-to-home services in 2006. At that time, the company decided to use an ISRO satellite. 2) Do not set your Tata-Sky dish antenna under branches of Trees, buildings or other distractions. 3) You can also use the conventional method to tune - one person at the Antenna's end and other at the TV - checking for signals and asking to stop the direction of the Antenna. 4) You can restore your Tata Sky Set-Top Box to factory default settings using "Master Reset" option. Keep in mind it will remove your favourite’s channels and saved preferences. But it will not delete your recorded TV programs. 5) Most of the times the firmware Tata-sky set-top box is automatically updated by Tata Sky. But you can initiate it by manually too by requesting in set-top box setting. Care for Tata Sky Dish Antenna 1) Do not worry about the rain, sun - wind etc (can't help if its earth quake), your Tata-sky dish can withstand all these. 2) Switch/plug off cable and power connection in case of thunder storms and lightning. 3) Tata Sky on Insat 4A and G-Sat 10 at 83.0°E . A rescan should fix the problem if you are not receiving any TV channel on your set-top box. Our Review : 1) None of the channels are repeated like cable operator does. 2) While Viewing a channel you can actually browse and check "What’s running" on other channels. 3) You can set reminders so that you will never miss out your favourite’s programmes and shows. 4) All channels are organised and categorized according to Regional, News, Movies, etc. Consideration while setting Your Tata-Sky Dish 1) First you have to get minimum signal, then you can tune to maximum signal. 2) You have to place the antenna in an open place where there is no tree or building between the antenna and satellite. 3) To align direction of Tata Sky Dish Antenna, there is device which has both compass and inclinometer. But it costs a lot. (like Digital Satellite Finder) Sometime, it will be easier if you have an android mobile and you have a Sat Finder Gadget on your android mobile to get the signals easily. (This app is still in developing mode) Note : A good quality “Digital Satellite Finder” is available on online retailer or local market from price Rs 1500 and upward.
