Why Tunnels Don't Collapse

08:40
How simple reinforcement is used to prevent collapse of rock tunnels. Join Dollar Shave Club for only $5 at http://www.dollarshaveclub.com/PracticalEngineering Tunnels play an important role in our constructed environment as passageways for mines, conveyance for utilities, and routes for transportation. Rock bolts are a type of reinforcement for stabilizing rock excavations, usually made from steel bars or bolts. This simple construction method dramatically reduces the cost of making tunnels through rock safe from collapse. How to use Hot Stuff CA glue for lapidary applications- with Ed Johnson

21:19
Visit http://www.CAGlue.com to buy the products Ed uses in this video. Ed Johnson, former owner of Johnson Brothers Lapidary in Placentia, CA, demonstrates the most common lapidary applications for Satellite City CA glue. Ed uses Hot Stuff Original to stabilize fractures and soak into porous, weak rocks and bones to harden them, and he fills in gaps with Super T medium and Special T thick instant glues. The NCF Quick is used to quickly cure the glue, and he also keeps some solvent handy in case he needs to get glue off of his hands. Satellite City instant glues have been used in the lapidary field for decades. Our Hot Stuff, Super T, and Special T CA glue are fantastic not only for rocks but also bones. In fact, Hot Stuff glue was used extensively in the excavation of Sue, the largest most complete Tyrannosaurus rex ever discovered so far and currently displayed at the Field Museum in Chicago.

Blasting Holes Drilled in Granite Rock

02:35
Gray Granite is a Igneous rock ( derived from the Latin word ignis meaning fire) formed through the cooling and solidification of magma or lava. This video shows the drill holes that were made in the granite, so they could put dynamite in the holes to blast the rock. The result of rock blasting is often known as a Rock Cut. Rock surface newly blasted, this is called pre-split, it's a technique to leave a smooth face. Elevation of this rock cut was about 7,000 feet above sea level. MANY go to BLACK MOUNTAIN... but FEW RETURN. "BIZARRE SLIME is a clue!"

Black mountain is just amazing! It is an amazing place! On todays show we are going to offer a new explanation for the weird disappearances of even experienced cavers inside this mountain and the many deaths and disappearances associated. Please stay tuned, you might like it. You might find it very odd but it’s what I think is happening. I would like to thank my patrons and in particular Mark Millet for requesting a video on this particular topic. Anyone contributing above a certain tier, they can request a video and I’ll just do it. Black mountain is simply extraordinary! I don’t want to re-hash talk of all the disappearances of people at the mountain who have tried to climb into the caves, as that’s all publicly available knowledge. The natives called it the mountain of death. In short, everyone who goes there exploring its caves disappears or feels its eerie scary energy and vows never to return. There is a crazy tunnel system through the black mountain. It was supposedly formed 250million years ago which is actually during a former mass extinction in which 99.9% of the species of earth were wiped out! It is hard to see how this is not in some way related! Is black mountain a product of the mass extinction, or did its ecosystem actually help in some way to CAUSE the mass extinction? Let’s examine what else happened at this time. There was massive deforestation and in looking at the mountain it appears that nothign wants to grow. The stories go that people, horses and cattle simply disappeared into the mountain, never to be seen again. Yet where does that energy go and is the mountain actually …. feasting? There is talk on the TV show, Ancient Aliens that the boulders have actually covered up a massive ancient mining operation. Whether or not this is true we cannot readily prove. Due to its remote location in far north Queensland and weirdness, Black Mountain is not set up for tourism, and there is only a viewing platform to see it, with no walking tracks. To explain how this thing formed, we should perhaps look at why it is so unique. One idea is that the boulders were formed from cooling magma and heat up tremendously in the sun. Rain falling on them therefore fractures them up into much smaller pieces. But what about the soil? Where is it? This could be a clue to the entire mystery.

How to break or crack rock and stone using fire

01:36
A short film documenting how we managed to remove giant rocks from our construction site, using heat, from fire. I'd seen a few videos on the web that highlighted how the thermal shock of moving from extreme heat, to dowsing the rock with cold water could shatter, but we had success by simply using fire. The top of the rock was tip and it was the same size below the soil and the fire split the rock to its core. The fire setting technique serves as a simple and cost effective way to remove rocks. It's also safe, just make sure the area around your fire is clear, in case the wind picks up.

Your character can now die by falling down from heights, by something hitting him hard or by something falling on him. The character can also die when the barbarians bit him. Additionally, we have added a new settings panel which is available in Creative mode; it can be activated by pressing 'K' and you can switch night mode or remove block fractures. Moreover, we have added a bunch of new blocks. The most interesting one is 'rope hook' which will automatically detach a rope on certain angles that can be configured by the player. Another interesting item is the tearable rope; this is a type of rope that gets broken when something comes in touch with it (barbarian leg, block, tree, etc.). It is ideal for building more sophisticated traps. There are also a few new slope blocks and battlements. Lastly, ropes can now be found in 'Character Tools' - can be attached by pressing the primary action (left mouse) on highlight. The default rope is still available by pressing 'T' on highlight in Creative mode. Features - character’s death (available only in survival mode through world settings) - settings panel in Creative mode('K' button) - night switch - fire and torches are now emitting light - removing fractures (K-screen) - rope release hook (point to it, press 'K' to adjust angle) - tearable rope, basic rope added as a tool - added slope blocks, 30 degrees, 60 degrees - added slope battlement blocks, 45 degrees, 30 degrees - added round battlement block (small radius) - improved barbarians’ appearance Fixes - fixed tooltips in custom world and edit world settings - fixed placing static ball on the catapult disables rope movement - fixed barbarians’ performance issues - fixed startup crash - fixed control hints for voxel hands - improved roof structural integrity - fixed roof mount points - fixed king's statue turned red when placed on a platform - fixed tooltips in custom world and edit world settings - fixed cannot scroll with ctrl+mouse wheel in blueprint menu - fixed switching toolbars while G screen is open - fixed camera issues in 3rd person - fixed camera shaking annoyingly when using turn wheel

Soldier Uses Body to Protect Boy against Falling Rock in Quake

02:36
A soldier who used his body to protect a little boy against a falling rock during an earthquake in Tibet was transferred to Chengdu for further medical treatment on Thursday. Zhang Gaoyong, the 19-year-old frontier guard, was on duty at the Nyalam Frontier Inspection Station in southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region as the earthquake, registering 8.1 on the Richter scale, shook China's neighbor Nepal last Saturday and severely affected the region. The quake wobbled the ground and buildings at 14:11 on Thursday as the surveillance video showed and Zhang was seen running with his left arm covering a nine-year old boy. Then massive rocks started to rolling down and the cameras were all damaged. As the soldiers and residents continued to run down the hill as a giant rock suddenly fell on the boy and Zhang immediately turned to the boy, using his body to cover him while pushing the boy away. "The boy was crying and sitting on the ground. I grabbed him and was to take him away when a building next to us suddenly fell down and a giant rock rolled down from hill and knocked me down," said Zhang. Zhang was seriously hurt by the rock, causing several fractures, however he had to stay in a local medical station and no access to further treatment as the roads leading outside were all blocked. Zhang was then transferred to the region's capital of Lhasa right after the roads resumed service Thursday morning and then arrived at Sichuan People's Hospital in Chengdu city of southwest China's Sichuan Province, to have all his injuries examined and cured. "The preliminary examinations showed he might have injuries at his stomach, pelvis and hips. And we are going to give him further checks as the wounds are deep," said Tang Liuyi, chief physician of Orthopedics Department of the hospital. Doom ( 2016 ) - Level 2 : Resource Operations ( Know Your Enemy )

43:39
Gameplay The game is fast paced, with sprinting, double jumping, and mantling being possible.[2] The Doomguy is faster than almost every demon in the game, and it is intended that movement is the key to both offense and defense.[4] No reloading mechanics are present (there are ammo pickups however) nor regenerating health (instead possessing health packs along with armor to reduce damage taken). In the campaign and in SnapMap, players are not limited in the number of weapons they can hold.[2] The weapons are displayed on a weapon wheel, with time slowing down significantly while doing so.[18] The gameplay is intended to harken to the classic games in the series.[2] A "karate system" is featured where the player can engage demons in melee combat. Fatalities, also known as Glory Kills,[20] feature in a manner similar to Brutal Doom, with the enemy glowing blue when available to do so, and orange when you are close enough to execute.[21] Keycards are used to open doors. Weapons can be modded, as well as the Praetor Armor. Maps Included multiplayer maps: Excavation - A modest-sized UAC mining outpost. Watch out for the rock grinder! Infernal - A mid-sized Hell map with both interior and exterior elements. Lots of platforms and chasms, along with teleporters. Chasm - This massive map takes you deep below the polar ice caps of Mars. A great place to play Freeze Tag. Disposal - This smaller map is the main waste processing facility for the UAC research and residential complexes. Unsurprisingly, it's full of radioactive slime. Helix - This is where they experiment on demons and develop advanced weaponry. Which, naturally, makes it perfect for a quick round of Clan Arena. Perdition - Disjointed and sadistic, this ancient arena is populated by the agonized moans of unfortunate souls who have suffered within its realm. Sacrilegious - Set within a fracture of Hell, this map offers clear lines of sight. Move fast... or die faster. Heatwave - An industrial UAC facility with glistening halls that will soon be slicked with human (and demon) blood. Beneath - Before being beamed to Earth, the energies of Hell are harnessed in this symmetrical and cavernous location.

Top 10 most Valuable gemstone rock type gems in the World !!!

Top 10 most Valuable gemstone rock type gems in the World !!! More: http://j.gs/8D5f Source link : http://j.gs/8D5f "Gem" and "Jewels" redirect here. For other uses, see Gem (disambiguation) and Jewels (disambiguation). "Precious Stone" redirects here. For the James Bond character, see Hurricane Gold. For other uses, see Gemstone (disambiguation). Group of precious and semiprecious stones —both uncut and faceted— including (clockwise from top left) diamond, uncut synthetic sapphire, ruby, uncut emerald, and amethyst crystal cluster. A gemstone (also called a gem, fine gem, jewel, precious stone or semi-precious stone) is a piece of mineral crystal which, in cut and polished form, is used to make jewelry or other adornments.[1][2] However, certain rocks (such as lapis lazuli) or organic materials that are not minerals (such as amber or jet) are also used for jewelry and are therefore often considered to be gemstones as well. Most gemstones are hard, but some soft minerals are used in jewelry because of their luster or other physical properties that have aesthetic value. Rarity is another characteristic that lends value to a gemstone. Apart from jewelry, from earliest antiquity engraved gems and hardstone carvings, such as cups, were major luxury art forms. A gem maker is called a lapidary or gemcutter; a diamond worker is a diamantaire. The carvings of Carl Fabergé are significant works in this tradition. The traditional classification in the West, which goes back to the ancient Greeks, begins with a distinction between precious and semi-precious; similar distinctions are made in other cultures. In modern usage the precious stones are diamond, ruby, sapphire, and emerald, with all other gemstones being semi-precious.[3] This distinction reflects the rarity of the respective stones in ancient times, as well as their quality: all are translucent with fine color in their purest forms, except for the colorless diamond, and very hard, with hardnesses of 8 to 10 on the Mohs scale. Other stones are classified by their color, translucency and hardness. The traditional distinction does not necessarily reflect modern values, for example, while garnets are relatively inexpensive, a green garnet called tsavorite can be far more valuable than a mid-quality emerald.[4] Another unscientific term for semi-precious gemstones used in art history and archaeology is hardstone. Use of the terms 'precious' and 'semi-precious' in a commercial context is, arguably, misleading in that it deceptively implies certain stones are intrinsically more valuable than others, which is not necessarily the case. In modern times gemstones are identified by gemologists, who describe gems and their characteristics using technical terminology specific to the field of gemology. The first characteristic a gemologist uses to identify a gemstone is its chemical composition. For example, diamonds are made of carbon (C) and rubies of aluminium oxide (Al 2O 3). Next, many gems are crystals which are classified by their crystal system such as cubic or trigonal or monoclinic. Another term used is habit, the form the gem is usually found in. For example, diamonds, which have a cubic crystal system, are often found as octahedrons. Gemstones are classified into different groups, species, and varieties. For example, ruby is the red variety of the species corundum, while any other color of corundum is considered sapphire. Other examples are the Emerald (green), aquamarine (blue), red beryl (red), goshenite (colorless), heliodor (yellow), and morganite (pink), which are all varieties of the mineral species beryl. Gems are characterized in terms of refractive index, dispersion, specific gravity, hardness, cleavage, fracture, and luster. They may exhibit pleochroism or double refraction. They may have luminescence and a distinctive absorption spectrum. Historically, all gemstones were graded using the naked eye. The GIA system included a major innovation: the introduction of 10x magnification as the standard for grading clarity. Other gemstones are still graded using the naked eye (assuming 20/20 vision).[7]source:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gemstone Top 10 most Valuable gemstone rock type gems in the World !!!
