Turbine Oil Purification Systems is an important process to ensure reliable operation of equipment at hydroelectric power stations. These oils are used in turbine control systems and its elements, such as oil pressure units, gate servos, rotor wheel servos, bearings and thrust bearings. Contamination of oil with sludge and moisture causes electric erosion of bearings, reduces reliability of control systems and sealing of turbine generator shaft, resulting in wear of resistant pads and bearing halves (resulting in higher costs of repairs and maintenance), degrades performance and reduces the service life of turbine oils. Analysis of failures, defects and damage of equipment indicates that 20-25% of incidents are caused by problems in the oil supply and by deteriorating quality of turbine oil. Replacement of turbine oil is expensive, with high costs of purchasing fresh oil and disposal of used oil. This is especially true if there is a potential to extend the service life of used oil, in spite of the decline in its performance. An oil-water separator for turbine oil purification does not always provide the necessary degree of water and mechanical impurities removal. The same can be said about another method utilizing filter elements for cleaning of turbine oil. The pores of the filters let through solid particles which are harmful to both the oil system and the entire turbine. Cleaning turbine oil using GlobeCore CMM-T mobile oil station fully restores oil performance to normal standards and makes the restored oil suitable to be used again. The CMM-T unit operates equally well with turbine oils, hydraulic and thermal power plants, at facilities of national importance and in hazardous conditions. Using GlobeCore units for cleaning turbine oil every time when the oil acid number rises above the permissible levels will extend the life of turbine oil; it will save money on buying fresh oil and disposing of waste oil. Purifying turbine oils in a 72 MW radial piston turbine saves $ 1,300 a year or more. More information about Turbine Oil Purification: https://globecore.com/turbine-oil-filtration.html. Flogistix. The leader in production optimization, welcomes you to this animated look at our vapor recovery unit. As wells produce oil, gas is also produced in two ways. Flash gas is produced from the initial separation process, and solution gas is produced over time as oil is collected in storage tanks. Oil fills the tanks, and the volume occupied by the tank vapor is displaced, increasing the pressure of the gas. Most tanks are designed to release this gas at 12 ounces of pressure or less. Without a vapor recovery unit, or VRU, the pressure of this gas is too low to flow into a sales line and must be either vented or flared. Venting tank vapors to the atmosphere costs money, is dangerous, and is harmful to the environment. Tank vapors typically have a very high BTU content and are up to twice as valuable as dry gas, resulting in lost revenue. Tank emissions are greenhouse gases that are 21 times more potent than CO2, and incur fees and pentalties, increasing operating expenses. Vented gas also poses a safety hazard as combustible mixtures are formed near the tank battery. Flaring gas does less damage to the environment, but is just as costly. Operators that flare tank vapors are literally burning millions of dollars of high BTU gas each year. With the Flogistix VRU, you can capture this revenue and virtually eliminate venting and flaring. As the tanks fill with oil, the VRU draws the tank vapors off at a precise pressure, typically between 4 and 8 ounces. This rich gas stream is then compressed and discharged into the sales line, producing revenue for you. Our Logix PLC controller features automatic start and stop, variable speed control, satellite telemetry with text message notification and ultra precise pressure control, which prevents O2 contamination and keeps blanket gas on the tanks. The technology and safety built into the Flogistix VRU system will help you increase revenue, decrease costly emissions, and reduce safety hazards on your location. Our engineering department can design a VRU system to meet your needs. Call us today let Flogistix help you capture every MCF. Capture every dollar. Flogistix. The leader in production optimization.

Cementing and fracturing are two important parts of drilling for oil and gas. Cementing secures the pipe inside the well in cement. Fracturing (or fracking) pumps a liquid down into a wellbore under high pressure, which creates and expands cracks that allow the oil and gas to be extracted. Environmentally Responsible: used at the source of the drilling waste, the TCC can eliminate transportation costs, minimizes crane lifts associated with skip and ship operations, and reduces excessive manual handling improving HSE benefits over other thermal options. The TCC unit can be fueled by the recovered base oil and the recovered oil not used as fuel can be added back to the drilling mud for reuse. It has the smallest footprint for throughput (6MT/HR) in the market. Mechanical action is applied directly to the drill cuttings via hammers that create friction which causes temperatures to rise above the boiling points of water and oil. Once these temperatures are reached, hydrocarbons are removed from the solids to an acceptable disposal limit (less than 1% oil on cuttings). The oil and water vapors that remain are then fed through the TCC condensing system and recovered separately as heavy oil, recovered light oil, and recovered water. Hydro-pneumatic accumulators are pressure vessels designed and built to store fluids under pressure. They are charged with nitrogen which is separated from the fluid section by a piston, bladder or diaphragm. HYDAC has over 50 years of experience in the research, development, design and production of the accumulators. The principle applications of accumulators are: energy storage, emergency and safety functions, damping and the reduction of vibrations, pulsation damping, shock absorption, suction flow stabilisation, media separation, energy recovery, volume and leakage compensation and also weight equalization. Using an accumulator improves the performance of the whole hydraulic system, and can give great safety and comfort for operators of machines. It is important to know that Hydraulic Accumulators present an acute safety risk to personnel and equipment if not correctly engineered, applied or maintained. Quality, safety and reliability are paramount for all HYDAC accumulator components. They comply with the current regulations (or standards) for pressure vessels in the individual countries of installation. In taking delivery of a HYDAC hydraulic accumulator therefore, the customer is assured of a high quality accumulator product which can be used in every country in the world, depending on the certification. HYDAC provides technical training courses in a variety of topics, and among them is the "Understanding Accumulators". This is a three-day course which is designed as a detailed examination of accumulators. We examine all aspects of accumulator construction, sizing and operation within a system. In the "Understanding Accumulators" course, you will learn all of that and much more. We will cover the following topics: general introduction to accumulators, thermodynamics and calculations, pre-charge and test procedures, certification and approvals, legal requirements, Accumulator Simulation Software ASP, and the third day of the course is Hands-on, where bladder accumulators will be inspected, assembled, pre-charged and dis-assembled by you. At the completion of the course, a certificate of acknowledgement will be issued to the participant, stating the course name and all other relevant details. The purpose of this video is to give you some guidance of how to assemble a hydro-pneumatic accumulator. Note that only people with special technical training should assemble pressurised hydro-pneumatic accumulators. Assembling correctly will give you years of trouble free operation. The following video is of a dissolved air floatation system (also known as a DAF) at a major food processing customer. The customer contacted Bond to evaluate and reduce the amount of TSS, FOG and BOD in their processed effluent in hopes of lowering their surcharges and getting back in favor with the local POTW. After an evaluation of the plant operations, wastewater stream strengths, treatment equipment and treatment chemistry a plan was initiated. Our major challenge is the DAF is undersized from an influent water flow and strength standpoint. The “air to solids ratio” is too low to properly float the solids with acid cracking chemistry and results in carryover. When it comes to troubleshooting low power concerns on a Cat® Hydraulic Excavator, Caterpillar Maintenance Expert Jeff Payne says look at the simple things first, such as checking your machine air filters and fuel filters for restrictions - before looking at cycle times; swing, stick, bucket and boom times, or valve adjustments. For more information review your Operation Maintenance Manual specific to your Cat machine or contact your local Cat dealer. http://www.cat.com/en_US/support/dealer-locator.html Order Cat® Parts online at https://parts.cat.com/en/catcorp/home
