How to operate an Offline Filtration Trolley

03:09
How to operate an Offline Filtration Trolley - HYDAC OFTM The HYDAC filter trolley OFTM is an air operated mobile oil service unit used to filter oil when filling systems, transferring hydraulic and lubricating fluids and to provide offline fluid filtration. It is convenient for offline filtration, easy to operate and aimed to reduce the life cycle cost of your system. In this video we will show you how to operate this unit. If you have any question, don't hesitate to contact us on [email protected] Thank you... Video script Welcome to HYDAC Australia. In this video we will show you how to operate an Offline Filtration Trolley, HYDAC OFTM. The OFTM is an air operated mobile oil service unit used to filter oil when filling systems, transferring hydraulic and lubricating fluids and to provide offline fluid filtration. The unit has a unique foot operated lever that tilts the wheel into a best position, reducing the load for the operator. It also allows the unit to be locked safely into position before starting the operation. Make sure you have clean dry air available. We recommend between 6 to 12 bar. Select the oil card according to the fluid that is going to be used. As the trolley is capable of handling different fluids, including HDA Glycol, the cards inform other operators of the fluid that is currently being used. To start the operation, remove the suction hose, which is the hose that has a larger diameter, from the trolley and place it in the tank or drum. Do the same with the return line hose, which is the hose that has a smaller diameter. Ensure that the air isolation valve is closed and connected to the air supply. Turn the air isolation valve on. The operating speed of the OFTM unit should be selected to avoid cavitation of the pump, in this case we have a low viscosity fluid, but when using high viscosity fluid the pump speed must be reduced. Select the mode you would like to operate the trolley in, transfer or filter. The ‘transfer’ mode will only transfer the fluid from one tank to another without using your filter element. On the ‘filter’ mode, the oil passes from the pump through both filters in cascade. You can change the mode without turning off the pump. And it also has test points to allow the connection of a particle counter with 1 point pre filter and 1 point after filter. The filter element is easy to change and doesn’t require special tools. Use your hand to unscrew the housing and replace the element. The pressure indicators are visible from both sides. The OFTM is convenient for offline filtration, easy to operate and aimed to reduce the life cycle cost of your system. Thanks for watching this video, I trust you find it informative, if you have any question about our Filter Systems, please contact HYDAC Australia or our Service Partners. Thank you.

Cementing and Fracturing

02:15
Cementing and fracturing are two important parts of drilling for oil and gas. Cementing secures the pipe inside the well in cement. Fracturing (or fracking) pumps a liquid down into a wellbore under high pressure, which creates and expands cracks that allow the oil and gas to be extracted. Video provided by of the Petroleum Services Association of Canada (http://www.psac.ca/).

FLOGISTIX Vapor Recovery Unit (VRU)

02:47
Flogistix. The leader in production optimization, welcomes you to this animated look at our vapor recovery unit. As wells produce oil, gas is also produced in two ways. Flash gas is produced from the initial separation process, and solution gas is produced over time as oil is collected in storage tanks. Oil fills the tanks, and the volume occupied by the tank vapor is displaced, increasing the pressure of the gas. Most tanks are designed to release this gas at 12 ounces of pressure or less. Without a vapor recovery unit, or VRU, the pressure of this gas is too low to flow into a sales line and must be either vented or flared. Venting tank vapors to the atmosphere costs money, is dangerous, and is harmful to the environment. Tank vapors typically have a very high BTU content and are up to twice as valuable as dry gas, resulting in lost revenue. Tank emissions are greenhouse gases that are 21 times more potent than CO2, and incur fees and pentalties, increasing operating expenses. Vented gas also poses a safety hazard as combustible mixtures are formed near the tank battery. Flaring gas does less damage to the environment, but is just as costly. Operators that flare tank vapors are literally burning millions of dollars of high BTU gas each year. With the Flogistix VRU, you can capture this revenue and virtually eliminate venting and flaring. As the tanks fill with oil, the VRU draws the tank vapors off at a precise pressure, typically between 4 and 8 ounces. This rich gas stream is then compressed and discharged into the sales line, producing revenue for you. Our Logix PLC controller features automatic start and stop, variable speed control, satellite telemetry with text message notification and ultra precise pressure control, which prevents O2 contamination and keeps blanket gas on the tanks. The technology and safety built into the Flogistix VRU system will help you increase revenue, decrease costly emissions, and reduce safety hazards on your location. Our engineering department can design a VRU system to meet your needs. Call us today let Flogistix help you capture every MCF. Capture every dollar. Flogistix. The leader in production optimization.

Fundamentals of Upstream Oil and Gas

09:23
Oil 101 - A FREE Introduction to the Oil and Gas Industry I this first of 10 modules, we introduce the learner to some key fundamentals of the Upstream segment of the oil and gas industry. The full Oil 101 course includes: +Introduction to Upstream +Introduction to Midstream +Introduction to Downstream +Introduction to Exploration +Introduction to Drilling +Introduction to Production +Introduction to Natural Gas +Introduction to Refining +Introduction to Supply and Trading +Introduction to Petroleum Product Marketing Learn More about Oil 101: http://www.ektinteractive.com/ http://www.ektinteractive.com/oil-101/ So, What is Upstream? Most oil and gas companies’ business structures are organized according to business segment, assets, or function. The upstream segment of oil and gas is also known as exploration and production, or E&P because it encompasses activities related to searching for, recovering, and producing crude oil and natural gas. Upstream is all about wells, where to locate them; how deep and how far to drill them; and how to design, construct, operate and manage them to deliver the greatest possible return on investment with the lightest, safest and smallest operational footprint. In fact, the E&P sector should probably be called the EDP sector - because “you can’t find oil if you don’t drill wells.” Exploration Obtaining the Lease Let’s start with exploration which involves the operator obtaining a lease and permission to drill from the owner of onshore or offshore acreage thought to contain oil or gas. Then the operator must conduct geological and geophysical surveys to select the first well site to explore for, and hopefully find, economic accumulations of oil or gas. This well is often called a “wildcat well.” Drilling is physically creating the “borehole” in the ground that will eventually become a productive oil or gas well. This work is typically done by rig contractors and service companies in the Oilfield Services business sector. On a wellsite, there can be as many as 30-40 different service contractors providing expertise to the operator. Wells can be relatively simple or unbelievably complex. Wells can totally vertical for miles or both deep and horizontal. There are also highly complex “J” and “S” configured wells with numerous branches, or laterals, emanating from the original, or “mother”, hole. These are called “deviated wells.” Production Finally, let’s discuss production, where reserves are “converted to cash” by maximizing the recovery of hydrocarbons from subsurface reservoirs. Essentially, production is efficiently bringing the hydrocarbons to the surface and treating them as needed to make them marketable. So that’s the basics of E&P. We will drill deeper into each of these operations in the complete Oil 101 course at a later date. Now, let’s talk about unconventional resources, clearly the hottest topic in oil and gas over the last decade. Unconventional Future of Oil and Gas Unconventional resources are defined as any resource extracted, or produced, by any method other than the traditional vertical or slightly deviated well. The three main sources of technological breakthroughs that have made unconventional developments profitable include: Horizontal drilling Hydraulic fracturing Subsea engineering (especially deep water production)

Technical Services Engineer at Axens

02:48
How is it working as a Technical Services Engineer at Axens? Yvon Bernard presents his job in a 2''30 video! Transcript "My job consists of verifying the Axens specifications versus the refining unit, and to start it up. A start-up project is split into two different phases: a commissioning one and a start-up phase. During the commissioning phase, my team and I verify the drawings versus the Axens specification for the equipment and the P&ID. Then after, we will go on site and check physically what has been built compared to Axens specification. Before the start-up, we'll prepare procedures and then via meetings with the client, we will explain all the steps. When start-up begins, we will be in the control room with the operators and client engineers to give operating instructions. When the unit is started up, we will collect the data and the laboratory analyses, and then we will check the performance of the unit versus the Axens specification and propose to the client optimizations. Since I spend most of my time on site, one of my priorities is to make sure that Axens safety standards are applied. What I like most about my job is the opportunity to work on site and abroad most of the year. For example, I worked for a few weeks in Indonesia and now I am working for many months in Kazakhstan. The technical aspect of my job is very interesting because daily the questions are never the same. I can deal with mechanics, process engineering, thermodynamics, rotating machines and so on. I really like to be in front of the client, which means a lot of autonomy, but I still keep in contact with Headquarters in case I need it. Within the technical assistance department the expected evolution is to become a chief start-up advisor. After, it's possible to work on a more technical job as an expert or to be closer to the client. I decided to join Axens because it's an international company with human size. Everyday I get to work with people from Portugal, Spain, Argentina, China, and so on." How Do Oil Pumpjacks Work?

04:03
SUPPORT CR on PATREON: http://bit.ly/2qBHcvf Thanks for watching! This video takes a look at pumpjacks, colloquially referred to as Oil Derricks and oil horses. “Oil derricks” themselves are the hoisting structure used for drilling. After the oil well is tapped, then these pump jacks are used to extract the oil. For anyone who has ever driven through the southern United States or other oil-rich areas, you likely are familiar with the sight of oil derricks. These metal moving hammer-like structures work to extract oil from underground – often in the middle of nowhere. All this probably leaves you wondering, how do they actually work and what happens to the oil once it's taken from below ground? Called pumpjacks, oil horses, oil derricks, these large metal structures are crucial to supplying the US and ultimately the world with its oil needs. They function as traditional sucker rod pumps, known more technically as reciprocating piston pumps, and are made up of 5 parts: the prime mover, the crank, the samson posts, the walking beam, and the sucker rod. The Halliburton Baroid Ecosystem-Thermomechanical Cuttings Cleaner for Oil-based Cuttings

05:30
Environmentally Responsible: used at the source of the drilling waste, the TCC can eliminate transportation costs, minimizes crane lifts associated with skip and ship operations, and reduces excessive manual handling improving HSE benefits over other thermal options. The TCC unit can be fueled by the recovered base oil and the recovered oil not used as fuel can be added back to the drilling mud for reuse. It has the smallest footprint for throughput (6MT/HR) in the market. Mechanical action is applied directly to the drill cuttings via hammers that create friction which causes temperatures to rise above the boiling points of water and oil. Once these temperatures are reached, hydrocarbons are removed from the solids to an acceptable disposal limit (less than 1% oil on cuttings). The oil and water vapors that remain are then fed through the TCC condensing system and recovered separately as heavy oil, recovered light oil, and recovered water.
