The real question is where can I get some shorts like that?
Romaine Athey (8 months ago)
I'm sure you'll learn how to make it if you'll read woodprix instructions from cover to cover :)
Shasta Kennon (9 months ago)
Mine works too. I used woodprix plans and build it without any problems.
Mark Hartman (1 year ago)
Thanks could you give me the measurements in inches and I can get 8 feet pieces to cut?

Just wanted to say thanks for the video; I built an 8 card frame using similar components and build procedure! It's working great so far, although I'm considering adding feet to keep the intake from the PSU off of the carpet

Great vid. Thanks for posting this. It's a good sturdy build for any self-build computer, not just a mining rig. Fun and easy to make. Nice little project.
Usman Ishaq (1 year ago)
What's the mm where you put the wood and aluminum to hold the graphics cards from the top
Vlad Schnakovszki (1 year ago)
The one measurement left out is 11.5 cm from the top where the metal holder of the card sits to the wood where the riser sits.
Neurolicious (1 year ago)
Well this measurement is always different as it depends on which GPUs are being used.. He just showed the frame itself. you need to measure your own height of your GPUs and then correlate
Silas (1 year ago)
11.5 plus height of wood

What thickness wood did you use? And because we are in US, do you recommend rounding to nearest 1/4 inch? For instance 55cm = 21.6535 inches. Round up? down? Do you have exact measurements in inches?
Torin vanderpool (1 year ago)
I would try to find a yard stick that has centimeters for the easiest conversion.. just built mine and its a bit shotty but I used 4: 11 11/16 in 4: 13 3/4 in 4: 21 11/16 in for the aluminum... wood was 5: 13 3/4 in and 1: 21 11/16.. those arent exact because the conversion loses decimals.. for precise try to find a yard stick
Torin vanderpool (1 year ago)
I used 1 X 2 but if you can find 3/4 inch thick it would be perfect IMO... also make sure the screws are long enough to actually grab the wood! Went through a few types of screws
lynn kleinstein (1 year ago)
Please just get rid of that terrible music. this is a technology video not a children's show!

what are the dimensions of the aluminium angles? 10mm x 10mm or 20mm x 20mm ?
S K (1 year ago)
What is the measurement you made with the tape measure at 5:35? My video cards haven't arrived(so I can't get the measurement) yet and I want the frame to be ready when they arrive.
bro i have a question can you say me what are the calculation for 4 gpu of 120watts ?. PSU 600 watts are ok?
Jason Zuur (1 year ago)
What's the thickness, W & H of the aluminum angle?
mitoshthewarrior (1 year ago)
Got dimensions for an 8 GPU dual PSU rig?
Nate Skelly (1 year ago)
can GTX 1070 asus strix cards fit in this build?
Neurolicious (1 year ago)
just make it bit more wider and you good to go.
David A (1 year ago)
I have the same doubt and I don't think so. Those are shorter than the others 1070
TOMMY.MS (1 year ago)
Thanks for this tutorial Guntis, I made my own out of wood but this video gave me a good template to use as a starting point :D
Jnshox (1 year ago)
I built this same rig case today. I didn't put the wood piece and 2 metal pieces where it holds up the video cards, due to my video cards arriving in 3-4 days. Once they are here I can measure them exactly :)
Roberto P. (1 year ago)
This rig can fit 2 psu? Thanks

Hi man, I love your channel. I'm not speaker english man, so... I need if you can give me the materials and measurements by written please. I understand most of you say but thats parts not. Sorry for the bad english and thank you.
Compra Venta (1 year ago)
En su momento si, hoy ya no vale la pena minar. Hace como 1 mes vendi mi hardware. Simplemente lo hice con maderas y midiendo. Fue mejor porque no es conductora de electricidad.

you are just ammmmayzing bro . such a good helpful video
Vinoth Selvababu (1 year ago)
hey bro can we directly connect motherboard to wood or anything else
smaracibre (1 year ago)
And what screws are you using? How thick is aluminium sheet? Thanks
Jas (1 year ago)
i used 1/16th inch thick aluminum and it worked out pretty well.
iggirex (1 year ago)
you missed the three pieces of aluminum to hold up the cards in your list of materials in the description
Neurolicious (1 year ago)
I just finished a frame 70cm length, 35 height and 40 width. For 8 gpus. Used similar method to this and I precut aluminum... No shoddy or jagged shit on my frame.. iggirex you just bad i guess
Uros Kostic (1 year ago)
i make the same is perfect
Rodney Ascencio (1 year ago)
if u look at the video from 4:25 he don use aluminium angle for the deep .. only wood... that is why is only 4x35cm aluminium angle
iggirex (1 year ago)
Sure thing, I'd also advise to make it a bit taller.
Cheesaz (1 year ago)
thanks for mentioning this!
SilentNights (1 year ago)
how many cards can that rig fit?
Patrick Rafferty (1 year ago)
Guntis Vitolins great vid mate ! Whay width would you use for 8 rx470? Thanks!

Simon Adobah (2 years ago)
where do u buy the aluminum angle and the wood cuts
Dan Kinchen (2 years ago)
home depot, or Lowes in the U.S., they have all types of angles and wood types. They are like 8 ft long and you cut them down with a $6.00 steel hack saw in the tools department. I am currently building it right now!
Artur Ustayan (2 years ago)
Крутое видео. Собрал 1-ый риг по схеме. Стоит добавить вертикальных уголков для ножек
Romaine Athey (2 years ago)
You can learn more about it on woodprix website I think.
And where exactly do you put the longer wood bar? in half the depth of the frame? (12.5 cm away from the front part?)
Mining Hardware (2 years ago)
Fernando Alberto Tellez Miotta all depends how thick is the wood, I have 2cm I measured 11.5 cm from top
Hello! Thank you for uploading this video! I'd like to know at which high are you setting the upper level of the frame? (Basically at which high are you putting the wooden bar from the base of the rig?)
Gracias amigo por tu vídeo me sirvió de mucho saludos......

Why use wood? Why not all aluminum?
Jozie Paleckova (1 year ago)
True, but steel computer cases have dimple raised screw holes so MoBo touches the frame only at spot around screw. On flat stock aluminum frame , edges of MoBo lays flat, and although PCB is coated, it may rub-off or deteriorate to point of shorting situation. Wood cross-members are insulating safe(if dry) and no static either(unlike plastic ones).
Brian O'Neill (1 year ago)
and that's why most computer cases are made from wood, rather than aluminium or steel. Simples.
WinterFell King (1 year ago)
because if u used aluminum it will case short circut in MB
Mining Hardware (2 years ago)
Everything is possible , you can buy a case also and put in case, this is the way I build:)

John Nyarko (1 year ago)
Guntis I want to buy a complete mining rig with all components fixed and also with the ethos installed on it, how much and also any link to get Into contact with you for bussines
Hidde Hoogland (2 years ago)
Cheapest = rx 470. most profitable = rx 480.

Nuno Borges (2 years ago)
Thanks Exelent
Mining Hardware (2 years ago)
all depends how tick wood piece you use, in this here from top is 107mm.
Nuno Borges (2 years ago)
:) the messurement that i'm asking does not have that, i'm meaning the distance of the top to the location where we are going to put 1x55cm wood, you made a messurement at this minute with a tape :)
