There must be more to the Amazon story than they are telling us.  It doesn't make sense for them to tip their hand that way. I wonder if Amazon, Google and Apple will try their own payment systems before accepting Bitcoin.

or they will make an Amazcoin and control it and accept that lol

Actually, I think the Amazon story bugged me a little. I have been a big supporter of Bitcoin on Tiger Direct and Overstock, two sites I wouldn't use as normally as I do without their bitcoin support. It's also been a reason to use Fiverr again. There are thousands of people like me, with money to spend, who will prefer Bitcoin. Simply deciding not to take Bitcoin is unacceptable. In the coming years, if these people want my business, they will need to accept it. It's non negotiable.

Now bitcoins are at 522. As I said before, during the slump bitcoins moved from weak hands to strong hands. I picked up 2 more btc at 445 last week. Unfortunately that's all the investment capital I have for April. I watched sadly as the price dipped below 400 for a while. Oh well. I think Amazon's success is making them lazy. They won't accept bitcoin because they just don't feel like it. Fine. Since they're getting lazy, other retailers will start to catch up to them. If they won't accept bitcoin, perhaps these other retailers will. My first stop when I'm shopping for something online is always overstock.com now. Their decision to accept btc has made them my first choice now although I had never ordered from them before they started accepting bitcoin. On more than one occasion I've even bought from overstock when amazon was cheaper. Bitcoins aren't going to have universal adoption for a while yet but I can wait. This is more of a marathon than a sprint.
