It’s mind-boggling to me how these pyramid scheme suckers think they have their “own business”. No. No, you don’t. You don’t choose the product. You don’t set the prices. You don’t negotiate any contracts or make any decisions about any aspect of the company. You don’t set the return policies. You have rules about where and how you can advertise. You don’t get to keep 100% of your after-expense, after-tax profits. You literally have ZERO in common with an actual business owner. You’re are in no way a business owner. You have nothing in common with a business owner. You are an independent contractor for a huge corporation. That’s it.
Robert Heun (1 day ago)
+J Velez your such a fucking dip shit dude. You literally don't have any brains. Of course we need people like you to bag our groceries! Good fucking luck building a business with that piss poor mindset. Also. Do some research dip shit. Becoming an actor is literally the hardest thing to do. Oh yea and artists get paid ass checks. Also a musician can barely make it in this world. Ohh yea and look up how many people become athletes that actually make money. Your mind is in such a box. You think being an employee is the one and only way to make money. Yes. A musician. A artist. A actor. A athlete. Are all employees. And extremely difficult to get to those points. Anyone can be paid a shit check and be happy for it. And no. There are no cults. Maybe you should look up the definition of a cult. Like secret society's. Not a fucking mlm. Use your fucking brain. We can all be free from working. Mlm is the only way. And guess what! No one talked me into it. I read books daily and I discovered by myself the dream is real. Its possible to have everything you want and all the time in the world. Sadly your one of the ok ones who doesnt see it because you came out of your moms ass and not vagina. You will be a employee the rest of your life. Just like self employed people are slaves to there business. You think you know shit when you are actually nothing but shit so you only kn now how shitty you are because you think you no everything so thus you dont learn anything because you are shit. Sorry but your dumb as fuck. Also. Realize that smart people become millionaires. Not broke faggits like you. Let me know when your making $2k residual income every month and dont have to work for money any more. Then we will have something to discuss. Before then. Dont bag on freedom. Keep your shit job and I'll make my $2k monthly income and wake up whenever I want. And do whatever I want every day. Shut your mouth now. Because you dont have that and I do. So who the fuck is right and who the fuck is wrong here? Should I quit what I do to work at your job? Obviously not. Obviously I'm doing something right and your not doing anything. Grow the fuck up and pull your head out of your ass and look the fuck around child.

BayArea Playa lmfaoo stop your bullshit. One of the robots already told me this and this would be great sure if the products weren’t expensive and complete utter garbage.just stop any defense you have over your way is just pathetic unless your the 0.01 percent aka the people that started this scam who should continue doing what They’re doing which is making money off you cult followers
BayArea Playa (4 days ago)
J Velez so let’s find everyone in the world and connect. We need to change the world anyway People will buy Nike,Apple,BMW and any other name brand but you get no money back most people not thinking about investing There’s room for sales jobs and marketing teams nothing wiong a second income Old way thinking vs new way of thinking. Maybe it takes MLM to find everyone in the world. We need change anyway
J Velez (7 days ago)
Robert Heun it seems like the cult has got you big time. I like how every defense from you robots are but regular jobs are pyramid schemes. I guarantee you your are here born today because of regular jobs. Guess what majority of people are alive today because of regular jobs. If your talking about making a lot of money there is other ways of doing that besides getting into a cult and actually having a 0.01 chance of making millions. Such as being an actor, music artist, athlete, etc. .. if your whole pitch is to join to make a lot of money and well than your pretty much telling every human being who’s not involved in the scam that they’re crazy or haven’t figured it out. irony at its finest
J McIntosh (7 days ago)
Robert Heun - Oh my. So much ignorance in one post. Robert, when you’re rich off your pyramid scheme, or your retirement is set because of your Amway or Herbalife scheme (you sound exactly like an Amway cultist....), then make your own YouTube video showing us your house and your boat. I have a feeling that video won’t be forthcoming. I’m the female in the profile photo. I own my own small “mad money” business and have been a stay-at-home mom with our kids for 22 years. My husband is an upper-level executive with a company that you know. Our retirement is more than set. We’re paying cash for our kids’ college educations. That came from hard work that started when I was in college and he was in the Marines, earning a college education. Because there is no get-rich-quick scheme. You will not get rich shilling crap that anyone can get anywhere else for less money. My husband goes to work, comes home to me, we eat dinner at the table in our beautiful home on acreage, and we talk about our plans for the future. That’s not being a slave to a job. Are you kidding? The man loves his job. Flying on the corporate jet is fun. I love my job. Being a wife and mother and writing and editing from home when I feel like it is amazing. I don’t have to hassle people. I don’t have to recruit. And $5,000 a month? That’s $60,000 a year. Honey, that wouldn’t pay for just the college tuition we pay for every year. $5,000 in income per month does not impress me. If you can support your lifestyle on that, good for you. But I literally laughed out loud when I read that. You will not get rich. You’re probably in the hole every month when you add up how much crap your company makes your buy. But the guy who started whatever pyramid scheme you’re in loves you to death. Keep hassling people at Target and Starbucks and on Facebook. He’s got that private jet payment to make, you know. And, unlike my husband, who makes a quarter mil a year just by going into work and doing a good job at something he’s good at and that he enjoys, you make nothing unless you’re constantly recruiting. You aren’t going to do that here in this comment section. Pretty sure you realize that by now. Right? Better get to hustlin’. Unlike us, you have exactly zero guaranteed income. Zero bonus. Zero 401K. Zero stocks. Zero health insurance. Zero opportunity to ever rise to the level of the guy who makes you buy his motivational tapes. That would scare the hell out of me. If it doesn’t scare you, good for you. But I hope you’re doing something to plan for retirement other than pin your hopes on Amway or whatever you’re in.

Good job outlining the 4 signs. So many upset MLM people in the comments. No company that practices these four is legit. You weren't even being controversial. lol
Lunar Martian (19 days ago)
Great points. While at Uni, I was looking for part time jobs on craigslist, and I applied for one teaching english over skype. It seemed legit at first, though i thought it was strange that they didn't ask for an interview, but then they asked me to pay them $90+ postage to mail me the tech equipment that I needed (one of those headsets). Not an MLM but clearly a good old fashioned scam. They also never provided a work contract. Legit companies will pay for your equipment, and not ask you do do it for them. And headsets go for less than that, never mind the fact that most laptops already have a decent enough microphone built in.

So I have a job where it meets all these things he’s talking about. Unfortunately this guy is a little misguided. Mine is a very reputable life insurance company and the only one that has maintained a A+ rating by AMs best for over 8 years in a row. My company is pumping out 3%ers like crazy. The only difference is that I didn’t have to pay my company directly to work there, I had to pay for the licensing and pre licensing course, which they reimburse you if you complete it in a certain amount of time. He isn’t completely wrong, just ignorant.

Dude those arnt scams u have to put in a lot of work.. most of the time it’s work no one else what’s to do .. it’s hard dealing with ppl man. Dealing with 100 rejections a day to get the yes.. it a hard game man but it’s the most challenging to master.. because let’s be honest.. u want money and u want it to be easy.. everyone would love that life man but this isn’t that we have this life the real one.. where life takes work .. anything takes work even being negative.. look how much effort u put into this that took work time.. if u apply ur self in anything dude no matter what it is u will be successful.. even a scammer can get successful if he works hard at It.. but none of those are scams dude they are just difficult.. if it was a scam it would have been shut down trust me some one would of called the IRS dude I’m sure 😂

Don't ever keep friends like that - the type that will lie to your face at any time, bullshit you and stroke you off along the way. So-called "friends" like that have no value whatsoever and cannot be trusted. You'd be doing yourself and your future a great disservice having such friends in your circle. As for family, well those are ones you almost have to forgive - once and only after you've set them straight about lying to you and wasting your motherfucking time (and their own). Also, stay away from Facebook and get back to personal connections and interactions with legitimate friends and family.

I think there's a huge misunderstanding here. There is a clear definition of what a pyramid scheme is and how it's illegal. You pose arguable points, mostly just providing surface answers that the majority of people who lack critical thinking and observation would come up with as well. If your only defense mechanism is to call it a pyramid scheme and only look at it subjectively, then yes all you'll see is what you want to see. Its not a reflection of the truth, only your belief system. I can say with confidence one of these companies sponsors Olympic athletes, major curling events, pro football teams, soccer teams, the USA luge team, golfers. They don't create a product, they are brokers for long standing already existent companies. But hey, if you have more critical analysis above surface level insults like "scheme" and "cult" feel free to reply ☕🐸

I AM GRATEFUL for videos like these because they FILTER out 99% of the people who don’t think for themselves or can stomach the adversity it takes to build a business. This video is as IGNORANT as it can get. Yes, people join MLMs in the hope that they can make some money fast but QUIT when they realize it takes WORK and a ton of rejections from people who believe in videos like this. Before you pass judgement on what a scam or scheme is maybe you should look up the definition of a pyramid scheme. Pyramid schemes are ILLEGAL and would be shut down. It’s NOT a scheme or a scam if there is a product being sold! However, it’s your job to to decide whether or not you BELIEVE in the product that is being sold! Bottom line is MLMs, network marketing is sales. No way around it. It’s not a get rich quick scheme. It’s a “JOIN, WORK HARD, GRIND 24-7, SACRIFICE, INVEST, CRY, GET REJECTED, FAIL, FALL, GET UP AGAIN, DON’T QUIT, ” and get rich in the process type of business. The other option is to just keep your job and ignore every opportunity that comes your way.

Im not in this field but from someone who is looking at it from a marketing perspective it works.... Your selling a product and your basing things off numbers. However, pyramid schemes don't involve any products at all.... That is a pyramid.. Selling a product that people use then giving them an opportunity to market that product and get customers is not a bad idea....

People that work for a mlm are making money what you doing. Is a franchise free NO you have to pay. People you brainwashed in believing you won't break even but you do and the business is free. You got your money back. I rather see who will pay then you know they are serious. Free people ain't about nothing no insentive for the business don't do nothing in the business because they was free. Duh come to my page teach you business 101. Stop being brainwashed by this pyramid scared society. When all the government is doing is screwing you up.

The difference between a FRANCHISE and an MLM: A franchise limits the number of franchises in an area so that a franchise owner/operator has a chance of making a living. In my town of about 9,000 people there are several major national franchises (food and lodging and hardware). ONE of each. There are several Mary Kay ladies, some essential oil sellers, some CBD sellers, a LuLaRoe seller, someone trying to sell pearls out of canned oysters ... the usual MLM products. None of them are making a living at it.
Cheychey d (1 month ago)
A scheme is not a scam, they are two completely different things. First off you have to pay because you're not working for them you're partnering with them so it's more of like you're an independent contractor buying a franchise, and not so much being an employee needing to apply for a job at a company. The difference is that one works as a partner company of a larger company (like a McDonald's franchise owner) working for themselves. Recruiting other people underneath them and selling products and/or services to other people. The reason that the company doesn't need to know anything about you is because technically you are only investing in the company by purchasing the systems and tools, hopefully proven programs, services, and products as well as the lisences to use and sell them, and the lisenes to use the name of a company that hopefully already has a proven track record of success. But the invester is the only one who can make the decision of if they want to loose or leverage their investment by investing in themselves by actually using the systems, programs, products, and services and a licenses they bought, in order to make themselves money. Looking at the McDonald's franchise example, if a franchise owner decides to purchase the rights to use the McDonald's name and a building and all of their proven systems and their menu and the rights to start a business from reputable tried and tested cookie cutter business, as apposed to starting a restaurant from the ground up and hoping it gets popular, but for some reason decide not to use anything they paid for. Corporate would see that on one of their monthly inspections of the franchise location and may decide their name is being tarnished or dishonored and they could potentially close the franchise. If a person were to do tje same thing in the type of situations described in the video, main company wouldn't technically lose money if you don't implement their systems, so you are really the only person you are hurting by investing in something an opportunity but then not taking full advantage of it of the opportunity. But by giving them money and using what you purchase, to leverage their proven systems, your own efforts and time as well as the effort and time of the people that sign up under you, to make money. And each person who signs up understands that they have the same rights and obligations if they want to make money. While employees works for someone else to make the other person rich by keeping the other persons company running while only getting paid the bare minimum per hour.

@engineered truth stop making videos you are so ignorant. If you didn't do the business of course you don't understand it and never will. Stop talking about things you know nothing about. If you are an engineer is very likely you don't know anything about business so stop talking about business. Your job and school system are a pyramid scheme. Your job because is very likely you will never be with the ones at the top and the school system for training you to have the mentality that you have right now to be a slave to your job. They just pay you enough so you don't quit your job but not enough to have a more stress free life. And on top of that they will give you benefits like health insurance and you know why? Becouse your job will actually make you sick in a few years. Now if you are ok with just making enough to have an average life the I respect that, but don't talk about things you don't know anything about. If you didn't do the business its obvious you don't know about it so shut your mouth.

Lazy Gardens (1 month ago)
The MLM business model has some fatal flaws: 1 - They make money off the purchases of recruits, so they tend to recruit far more people than can actually make a living selling product. Let's do the numbers for one MLM (facts from Mary Kay website) Mary Kay Inc's global wholesale sales are $4 BILLION DOLLARS. Sounds impressive, doesn't it? But, unfortunately, there are 3.5 million Independent Beauty Consultants in the world. $4,000,000,000 / 3,500,000 = $1,143 That means that each consultant's share of the sales is $1,143 per year. If any IBC sells more, some IBC is selling less, because that number doesn't stretch. 2 - To advance in an MLM you have to recruit your own competition, usually from your customer base.

Most people fail in regular business what makes you think that they will succeed on network marketing or MLM. I have a small trucking company that that makes me a good living and it was hell to get it running the first year. I have two friends that have done network marketing, and they also struggle to get there business up and running. Both of them have had more financial success than I have, and wanted me to join them. One of the companies was the one you listed on your video World Financial Group, and the other was World Ventures. I never join since I am really a introvert, but wish I could have there selling skills. I don't think that MLM or Network marketing are all bad just not for me. Any business is tough at the beginning so most people will quit before they get started. No bs both my friends are millionaires in MLM and we all started our business at the same time. I am the only one who is not a millionaire yet LOL. Ill probably be one since trucking is almost recession proof LOL, but it will take me longer. I like this channel, but I just can say MLM are all bad even though I would never join one. I have met all type of millionaires in my life and they all come in all shapes and sizes, but one thing they have in common is that they don't quit and become a expert in one field until they switch to another.

First of all, pyramid schemes are illegal and has nothing to do with multi-level marketing which is a legitimate business model and is even taught in many universities. The businesses that you mentioned in your video are legitimate businesses and are very successful. There are a couple of flawed points that you made as well. First, you don't work for the business. It is your business and any money that you invest is for product, back office support, or other things that benefit your business. Secondly, of course, the people asked to join a business may not be known to the speaker or other managers but, they are known to those who bring them to the business open house. As you might have guessed by now, I am involved in one of those "scams" as you put it and have been for over 26 yrs full-time and I am very successful. Yes, recruiting is the life blood of any company including traditional businesses. And with traditional business as well as those that are true multi-level marketing, it holds true that all are not for everyone. So, whether you think you can succeed in one or not, your comments are unjustified and shows real lack of knowledge for another successful way of marketing.
This Black Dude (1 month ago)
"...Yes, recruiting is the life blood of any company...." This brainwashed way of thinking is exactly why MLMers are so delusional. The survival of any company is not "recruiting" other members who pay in and then go out and try to convince their friends to do the same so the company can survive. The life blood of a company is actually grounded in providing legitimate products and/or services to consumers.

Actually the difference is the product. A pyramid scheme has no legitimate product. If in a multi-level marketing business there is a product that reaches the end consumer and not only passed amongst members of the organization, it is a legal business.

Actually a pyramid scheme is not defined as the top making more than the bottom. A pyramid scheme is a business model that makes money ONLY from recruiting members and DOES NOT have a product that reaches the end consumer.
Juan Ruiz (3 months ago)
It’s not really a pyramid scheme it’s a multilevel marketing which makes money by recruiting and selling products. There’s money to be made but only people on top will make money
iluvsquarez (3 months ago)
Yes i agree with you. A pyramid scheme has no product that is sold to end consumers, the only money made is by recruiting. As long as a product is sold to end consumers, it's not a pyramid scheme.

You can't just talk with your own views here, google is FREE you can just check the legalities of these companies before you even name them. People who believed what you say is just the same as someone who believed in hearsay. If you don't know the meaning of network marketing please do some research first.

Like is herbal life is a pyramid scheme if not prove it in the comments. 😏

A pyramid scheme is a business model where money is made SOLELY from recruiting and NO products are sold to END CONSUMER. Herbalife CEO claims that 90% of their products reach end consumers. If his claims are true which is still under validation, then it is not a pyramid scheme as it does have a product.

Keep on complaining while others get rich, I am a business consultant of Aim global and am real proud of this company because it has changed my life from zero to hero I can now pay my uni fee and buy whatever I wish by using money which I have earned from this company and good enough I earn money even without paying attention to buying and selling the products of the company! But hey guys if you think this kind of business is recruiting then do something better and earn more than we earn unless otherwise join me WE ARE EMPOWERING NOT RECRUITING.... WELCOME AIM GLOBAL

"WE ARE EMPOWERING NOT RECRUITING." WHAT A LOAD OF SHIT. You've got some serious and deep-seeded mental issues. If you had legitimate products and services you wouldn't need to recruit nor empower. GTFOH with that retarded B.S.

Oh shit, in the start of video the socializing event was same shit that happened to me and my bro. We went in there socializing with gangster looking people that were in suits, but full of mexican gang tattoes. I saw bitches with fancy dress looking clothes that were worth no more than 30 dollars. After an hour long explanation of how many figures you would make a year we were asked to pay up 300 dollars each, they accepted credit card, "so nice of them" o said sure lemme go get the credit card from my car. My bro and I left and never came back.
