Is GPU Mining still profitable and if so should YOU Build a Crypto Mining Rig? Or is GPU Mining DEAD?! Today I discuss some of the graphics cards that you can still buy in this GPU shortage and at the current in stock retail prices will you hope to with an Nvidia 1050 TI / 1070 TI /1080 TI etc Mining Rig? Let's find out and see just how much my 26500 sols made in the last 24 hours / week mining ZenCash (Equihash like Zcash)

msi afterburner only supports 8 gpu...how do I over clock a system with 11 gpu. if the gpu's are the same and matched like youcan do afterburner...will the gpus not show be overclocked as well....or if afterburner doesnt show them, maybe it doesnt know they are there to match. of is there software that i can overclock all 11 gpu in my system.
Most follow only a hype and then they are disappointed when it is over!
I prefer to follow a good project in that you can still make decent profits and not everyone knows it befor BO0o.o0OM!!
A secret and really cool Project for GPU mining is the CREBELLION with Merebel lyra2z Algo with lot of new Technology (crypto rebellion)! very new and fucking low difficulty!!
https://www.cryptocompare.com/mining/calculator/eth?HashingPower=&HashingUnit=MH%2Fs&PowerConsumption=16000&CostPerkWh=0.11&MiningPoolFee=1 16k watts costs 1267$ per month. from what i can see 16k watts on zencash calculator is 1152$..so wtf 1400$ bill
oh he must have like 36 gtx 1080 ti's....lol i dont get it...zencash..ya 26500 sols, thats no 1050ti build wtf....1,400$ for power bill? thats like 16k watts...lololol. must live in a factory industrial zone
shivaradhan konda it dno if it would matter I'm sure u could still game with a mining card if they did do that so it's pointless I gurss. What they need to do is lower GPU prices for gamers and the people making the cards need to stop being so greedy because of the miners
NOT PROFITABLE AT ALL. JUST LOOK THESE NUMBERS:
- $1000 CAD ($792 USD) rig with only one EVGA GTX 1050 Ti SC
- 12.44 MH/s for ETH
- 100 W electricity consumption
- $0.08 cost of electricity here in Canada (Extremely cheap)
BABABABAAAAAAN => $8.39 USD a month ($10.59 CAD)
So, is profitable if the rig cost nothing!!!!!!!
$1000 CAD / $10.59 CAD = 94 month to pay the rig
FINALLY, +7 years to break even.
Answer yourself, IS IT PROFITABLE? OR IS JUST AN EXPENSIVE HOBBY?
There once was a 13 year old boy who wanted nothing more than to play gta v on his pc and get 60fps , he saved up his money desperately awaiting the day he could buy a graphics card to replace the shitty integrated graphics that came with his pc , he looked on newegg and searched for a gtx 1050 ti he looked at the prices and started to whine for all we wanted was to game but they wanted to mine.
Ok i tried but you get the point.
"Is GPU Mining Still Profitable?" Probably depends on location. In Germany electricity costs 0.26-0.29€ (0.32-0.36$). I don't have access to 1060-ties, 1070-ties or 1080-ties. But for example 1050ti draws around 70W and profit from mining is 0.51€ per day. Electricity costs though are 70x24/1000*0.26=0.44€. So a whooping 0.07€ profit.
Everyone should mine if possible . These crashes are designed to shut us down. I obviously cant say who doing it my guess is as good as yours. Greedy whales looking to dump then re buy . or pissed of bankers trying to knock out the little guys. who knows . But one thing is for sure. Do not stop mining! Mine on!! ...mine onnnn!!
The big gains are already made. There are hundreds of digi-coins by now. Blockchain does not exclusively belong to any digi coin. With all respect, this VoskCoin is promoting his coins to be valuable, but all he does is creating thin air and lots environmental pollution.
Nice overview, however you did not mention one word about INCREASING DIFFICULTY! For me, with Ether in general, the amount of ether that can be mined by using same power cost is DROPPING EVERY DAY! The more people who mine, the higher the difficulty. It was spiking at 8 percent LESS Ether per week for 6 weeks in a row. That's 32% less Ether per month, (huge power bill does NOT go down of course).. Over just a few months it's a huge drop in $$ over time, so I just wanted to add that fact into the mix.... I get you are probably banking more on what you are making off your youtube channel at this point! Which is understandable of course, there is good money to be made off of clicks so more power to you! Also nothing mentioned about paying TAXES!?? This might come back to haunt you some day as well. I plan on paying mine of course, but not looking forward to it... Call me a fool if you want but gotta do what you gotta do! lol
There are so many opportunities in the world of cryptocurrencies. It's not just equihash. Not just bitcoin. It's all the news stories. It is all the millions from big name corporations flowing into the crypto world. And -yes- GPU mining is very much alive and well.
Mining is about timing, right now profits are down and getting worse, it may become unprofitable for most very soon. That said we just don't know how long the mining recession will last. I would not advise anyone buy new hardware for mining any time soon.
Im getting conflicting info, the crypto is unlimited because it limited , that is a large leap of faith like Crypto is safe because ppl are scammed every day , im not imagining things ppl claim that is correct . Personally tried to mine , obviously good until you try it then you realise why it is not good , there is nothing you can do except make videos about it and sell GPUs and rigs . That's basically what im hearing , seeing and experiencing , take it with a gain of salt https://youtu.be/tEhpZTtTvY0?t=601
Thanks for answering the questions! Taking the numbers, 1050 ti x 6 = around $1476 with 7% tax, $1476/$4.52 = 326 day ROI ? (assuming things don't double or triple, maybe you have to sell your coins because you financed your cards) That's just the cards, no other parts. Also 1050ti's are not ideal for resale down the road. I think building a 1050 ti rig now even at $229 is not worth it. When mining was more profitable and 1050ti were $169, those cards were pulling in $1.50 a day. Now it's about $.70-80 cents each. I'm not an expert but hopefully my numbers are right. I know mining is a longterm thing but we all know 1 day in crypto is like an eternity so 326 days, 1050ti's , possible newer cards dropping, low resale long term, the entire combination doesn't sound good for building as of today. Risk factor extreme I believe. I'm just a newer guy though.. still learning. Maybe I don't have the full picture.
Mining to me always makes more sense as a means to buying crypto at a discount, especially after you reach your ROI. Holding or trading using mined coins is more effective than buying coins at their current prices using a fiat currency plus fees. I suggest, if mining with the intent to trade your mined coins, mine a coin with good liquidity that you can trade easily, such as the Zens and ETHs, etc. For people that are serious about investing in crypto, you can look at it, if mining, you are paying for coins at the rate of electricity cost, especially after ROI is achieved. I'd rather spend $250 on 1 Ethereum than $850 or whatever the price is. Would you rather by barrels of oil or the mining rig that retrieves it? Would you rather buy a gallon of milk at retail or spend more money and buy the cow that produces it and get your milk for free for years to come? I can't make it any simpler than that.
I agree that it would be nice to mine Bitcoin back in 2009 or buy it when it was first buyable and the same with ETH when it was trading for a few dollars a coin. But since these top coins have sky-rocketed and have been holding decent value and are also very liquid, makes it the best alternative to buying with fiat/USD, etc. Buying for the first time is risky to a certain degree. If I were to buy for the first time now, I would mine with the intent of getting a quick payout threshold and either hold the coins, for those with obvious continued value (speculative of course) or trade for the coins I believe in long-term and hold, then if the coins I am mining are switching to POS, such as ETH, then dump my gear last minute to either make a profit (depending on GPU demand of course) break even, or reduce the loss on equipment. As explained in the video, these devices are producing assets that can continue to mine the variety of coins out there. The option to sell the rig as an entire unit is a possibility or break the parts down to sell. The true risks right now are the scarcity of the legit cards and the high prices associated with them, present time. Depending on the coins you mine, the need of 6 plus card rigs are needed, especially if you want frequent worthwhile payouts. Time is money. Either way, proper research is needed on all aspects of this type of endeavor. I definitely wont buy retail right now though. The bottom line, one must believe in this and understand the tech to a certain degree, the tech, in the end is what is going to keep crypto alive and thrive and the most important thing, this is where the true value is born from. All markets rise and fall and risk is a necessary evil of it. Nobody wants to lose money but it's necessary to play with fire in order to win.
There was several YEARS where it was cheaper to buy the coins directly over mining, people have very short memory's. At this point mining profits are on a very consistent line down, I don't think you or anyone else should invest in more hardware until we start seeing signs of a turnaround.
Damn dudes, all that trouble and time for a meazly $4.00 profit in a day?? You guys would make more money standing outside a convenience store begging for spare change. You realize youre not making any money right? Noone is with mining. All this is, is a hobby. Unless you live at home with your parents or dont pay any electric bills, this might be worth something of a profit. Youd make more money working at McDonALDS dude. Im sorry but you know Im right, right?
Vosk, try not to bash on the traders most people do not understand that trading and mining work hand and hand. Mining is the left hand and trading is the right hand. There needs to be a balance. If we have more mining and less traders there at less crypto activities and price will drop. If we have more traders than Miner you will have more economic activities but less engine to run it. You have to get your viewers to understand that if they want to keep mining profitable, support the crypto traders.
I mean you can hold your profits, or pay off your cards, but eventually you get to a point where you use the profit to buy more GPUs, so it doesn't matter as much about the prices when the GPUs are buying themselves.
Awesome videos. With the 1050 at $150, $140 with rebate on Newegg, is the 80-90 dollar price difference going to net me 30% more gains?
Laptops from the beginning of this decade so Im in the market for a new pc. I figured building a hybrid daily pc/mining rig with a Ryzen 7 cpu, using an Asrock killer sli motherboard would be better than building 2 pc’s at once. Some light gaming from time to time and normal pc use also. I’m going to run multiple cards on it until I acquire enough gpu’s to start a mining specific pc.
since 2 or 3 weeks I've seen my amount of coin mined/day drop by more than 1/3, so even if the value of the coin increases I'll still be losing 1/3 of what I would do from the coins I've mined previously. I don't care when the value of a coin drops as long as I'm mining the same amount of coins because I'll be making the same profit on the long term.
As for today, it is no longer profitable in ETH or any coin for mining. Except ETH going up into above USD1.5k. The best, wait until ETH going up into USD3k.
I run genuine 24 gpu with 8Gb ram yeilding 31mhs per card, bios modded. With free electricity and air conditioning cos I work in CCGT 650Mw Power Plant. I have everything for free, 5 big IT equipment rooms, 4x 10Mb internet lines. And 1x 100Mb lease line run for another 15 years as well.
My office got considerably few spacious free rack 42u system not in use. Just mining for fun and for test actually, bcos ppl outside thinking and talking that mining is profitable, and some monkeyly eager to do that, so I decided to do my own physical mining cos I dont mind losing USD20k just like that. Actually I have a spare of USD100k for the the test. Afford to lose minded as well, yet hard to get those GPU lately, prolly getting fake GPU as well, I stop buying the rest.
Should you thinking of start to physical mining, STOP IT BABY. Unless you are ready to lose like me. I can make USD20k from other way of project in 2-3 months. So I am in no sweat and no harm to lose USD20k just like that.
One more thing, as the GPU card is always hot and getting hotter during mining, if you could keep at below 60°C at all time, go ahead. Mine at around 50–60°C with room temp at 16–18°C at all time. Yet it will be more than leading the GPU life getting shorter.
With DAG Epoch is getting bigger, 8Gb ram gpu will last only 15 months from now, meaning will end somewhere at May 2019. Even some said will last until 2028, its truly ridiculous.
Dont fall cheated with some mining calculators and some miners on Youtube out there. All is trying to make you feel believe on that. With ROI blablabla.. Stay away of physical or virtual mining.
I did it for charity. I dont want to let other ppl fall into this groove.
I love mining, but If you want to evaluate the pure profitability of mining, you can't consider increased coin costs. This is because you have to compare mining ROI to the alternative of investing the same cash in the coin, both make the same appreciation over same time period. With current equipment costs and average electric rates, you will make more money investing in the coin than mining. That said, Vosk is right because a part of the total ROI from mining IS the education, community and the fun of the hobby. You want the highest ROI, buy BTC and HODL. You want to learn about new technology, have fun and make some money to support your hobby, start mining brother!
Do a video on how to take your profits and turn it in to fiat currency to use to purchase more mining equipment. I still do not know how you can take coins you farm and turn it in to USD. Would be interesting to see.
